Watercolor Fun!

July 22, 2014

Even though I know that the watercolor technique is still very popular, I don't do it so often because I'm too lazy to prepare and put away the watercoloring tools. But, I stumbled upon a set of watercolor brush pens at a stationer's shop the other day and it interested me so much. After I tried some samples at the shop, I decided to buy it!

Here is a card I made using my new watercolor pens.

I used Water Blooms set (Mama Elephant) , which I purchased a few months ago but I didn't have a chance to use until now. First I inked the image with the watercolor brush pens and stamped it onto White CS.  Before it dries I applied some water on the image using a waterbrush pen to make the colors shade off.  The sentiment was stamped in Onyx Black ink (Versa Fine) after the image dried completely.

For the background I stamped a striped pattern directly onto the card base. I trimmed the focal panel and drew some gold lines around the edges using a gel pen.  Several rhinestones were added to finish off the card.

I still need to get into these pens more and more. So you'll see more cards using them in the near future.;)

Thank you for stopping by!
