Mama Elephant Stamp Highlight : Carnival Toppers

August 19, 2014

It's Day 2 of the Stamp Highlights at Mama Elephant. Today's stamp set we are showcasing is the Carnival Toppers.  It's a companion set to the Carnival Cupcakes and the sentiments in this set are so fun and cute! (These sentiments are not my work but Kryssi's!)

For my card today I went with the chalkboard technique. The images were heat-embossed in four colors (Seafoam White, Powder, Blush, and Butter).

First, assemble the stamps on a Stamp Press or a large acrylic block like this.

Stamp them onto black CS in Versa Mark ink, then heat-emboss with some white embossing powder. (I recommend you to apply some adhesive deactivator over the CS before you stamp the images.)

Stamp the cake wrapper from Carnival Cupcakes set and heat-emboss it  with Powder embossing powder. Apply some Versa Mark ink only to the candle body, stamp, and heat-emboss with Blush EP.

Stamp the flame and heat-emboss it with Butter EP.

I decided to add two tiny stars from Carnival Toppers set, then drew the line and frame with a white colored pencil.

I daubed a little white ink over the sentiment for more 'chalk' look.

Head on over to the Mama Elephant blog for more inspirational creations from the DT!

Thank you for visiting.
