CASE Study #210 & Merry Monday #128

September 30, 2014

For today's card I was inspired by the CASE Study Challenge #210 and the Merry Monday Christmas Challenge #128 (Polka Dots and/or Stripes).

I started with stamping Diagonal Stripes Background (MFT) onto the card base in Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with some silver embossing powder.

This beautiful poinsettia was made with Poinsettia Parade Craft Dies (Simon Says Stamp), Pure Poppy CS, and Ripe Avocado CS (PTI). A few tiny pearls were added to the center.

I used Falling Snow Stencil (Simon Says Stamp) for my stenciled background. I turned it upside down. I borrowed this idea from HERE.
The sentiment is from Small Folded Banners Holidays stamp set (Simon Says Stamp). It was stamped onto a die cut banner and silver embossed.

It is really sad that CASE Study Challenge has announced their break. I couldn't participate in their challenges so often, but I have been a big fan of it since Iwona started it. The inspiration cards Iwona chooses were always fabulous (sometimes hard to CASE for me though, LOL!) and the DT's interpretation always amazed me. So I couldn't even believe it when Iwona invited me to be a Muse in 2012. It was a big honor in my career as a card maker!
I totally understand it was a very hard decision. But I believe this closing is temporary! Anyways I'm so glad that didn't miss the chance to enter this weeks challenge!:)

FMS 155 : Have a Moo-tiful Birthday!

September 29, 2014

It's a quick post to share a card I made for the Fleshly Made Sketches Challenge #155.

I used Birthday Farm Animals set (Simon Says Stamps) again. I thought that the black, white, and gold color combo is a good match for this image.;) And I wound some gold ribbon onto the panel, which was cut out using Blueprints 13 Die-namics (MFT), to create a look of  gift wrapping.

The tag was die cut using Blueprints 13 Die-namics (MFT).

This sentiment is from Birthday Balloons Set (Simon Says Stamps).

C4C255 : Fall Leaves

September 27, 2014

Sadly it's the last week of my guest designing for the Crazy 4 Challenges. I really enjoyed designing for the challenge every week! Thank you for having me, Crazy 4 ladies!!

This weeks theme is Fall Leaves.  The leaves have not even started to change color yet here, but I expect the beautiful autumn colors in a few weeks.

I used a newly released MFT Die-namics, Falling Leaves. I die cut the leaves from Brick Red CS, Olive CS, and Safety Orange CS. Love these rich colors! I slightly sponged around the edges of each leaf with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
The sentiment is from Simply Fabulous Sayings set (MFT). It was stamped in Versa Mark ink and was gold embossed.

For the background I stenciled using Texture Mesh Designer Stencil (Memory Box), Ink Blending ToolsSoft Olive ink (Hero Arts), Butter Bar ink (Hero Arts), and Tangy Orange Hybrid ink (MFT). I'm so happy with how it turned out.:)

The bottom layer is Brick Red CS which was embossed using Wood Grain Embossing Folder (Lifestyle Crafts). I love that this 6x6 embossing folder has grid lines on the surface. It helps me a lot to put a piece of paper in an accurate place!
To finish off the card I added several rhinestones and a bow.

Head on over to the Crazy 4 Challenges blog for the challenge details and more inspiration from the DT!

Thank you for stopping by. Have a great weekend!
