Wednesday Sketch Challenge #274

March 30, 2016

Today I'm sharing a card I made for this weeks MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge (WSC274).

I rotated the sketch 90 degree. To create my focal panel I die cut a Smooth White panel using the Zig Zag Stitched Square STAX Die-namics and daubed some Berrylicious Premium Dye ink using an ink blending tool. I stamped a piece of Limelight CS with the Swiss Dots Background using Gumdrop Green Premium Dye ink, then die cut it with the Zig Zag Stitched Square STAX Die-namics and the Stitched Basic Edges Die-namics to create the hill. I stamped an elephant and flower images from the Adorable Elephants stamp set, colored them with Copics, and cut them out with the matching dies. After I adhered all the images and the hill to the inked panel, I matted it with a Kraft panel cut with the Stitched Mini Scallop Square STAX Die-namics. The sentiment was white embossed on a Pure Plum banner cut with a die from the Blueprints 27.

For my background panel I cut patterned paper from the Plaid Patterns Paper Pack and matted it with a Whip Cream panel. Three orange enamel dots were added to finish off the card.

Wednesday Sketch Challenge #272

March 16, 2016

It's time for a new sketch challenge (WSC 272) at the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog!

Here is my a little bit liberal take on the sketch.

I saw the sun in the circle element of the sketch. :)
I started my card with a Whip Cream card base. For my background panel I cut patterned paper from the Painted Prints Citrus paper pack. I die cut a Kraft panel using the Stitched Rounded Rectangle STAX Die-namics and stamped the Swiss Dots Background to the lower part of it in Chocolate Brown. The sentiment is from the Rainbow of Happiness stamp set.

The scalloped panel underneath the sun and clouds was cut from Persimmon CS using the Stitched Scallop Edges Die-namics. The clouds were cut from Smooth White CS with the Puffy Clouds Die-namics and the sun was cut from Lemon Drop CS with the Radiant Sun Die-namics. I popped up the sun and two of the clouds with foam sheet and foam tape.

MFT March Card Kit Release

The MFT March Card Kit, Warm & Fuzzy Friends is available for purchase now!

I'd like to share a cute interactive card I made using the kit for more inspiration for you!

Most of the products I used are included in the kit, but I also used the Grassy Hills Die-namics, Stars in the Sky - Horizontal Die-namics, and After Midnight CS to create my nighttime scene, and the Blueprints 20 Die-namics to die cut the sentiment banner.

Isn't the hedgehog peeking out from the tent cute? And have you noticed a little tab beside the tent?

See how it works in a very short video!

He seems to be getting excited with the smell of toasted marshmallow! Ha ha!
It's pretty easy to make. ;)

STEP 1 : Stamp, color, and die cut a tent and a hedgehog. Attach a strip of card stock to the hedgehog as shown in the photo above. Stamp and color a tent image again, and cut it out with scissors or a kraft knife as shown in the photo.

STEP 2 : Attach the hedgehog to the die cut tent using a small brad.

STEP 3 : Apply some foam adhesive only to the top and the bottom of the die cut tent.

STEP 4 : Bend the tent flap, and adhere it over the die cut tent.

I hope you like this and give it a try. :):)
