MFT May Release Countdown Day 4

April 30, 2016

Welcome to Day 4 of the MFT May Release Countdown. Today I'm introducing the new stamp set and Die-namics from Birdie Brown line, Magical Unicorns!

As you know, unicorns are popping up here and there in the stamping and card making world these days. So I'm very happy to get a chance to design my own unicorn themed set! The Magical Unicorns stamp set contains four unicorn images and several accessory images to build a cute and magical scene, of course including a rainbow image. An unicorn stamp set cannot be completed without a rainbow! Right? :)
This set will also match well with the new End of the Rainbow Die-namics and the Rainbow Greetings stamp set. The previously released Stitched Rainbow Die-namics, Color the Rainbow Die-namics, and Rainbow of Happiness stamp set can be combined with this set, too!

For my card today, I combined the Magical Unicorns stamp set with a sentiment from the Rainbow Greetings stamp set.
I die cut a Smooth White panel using a stitched scallop rectangle die from the Blueprints 27 Die-namics. I blended some Lemon Chiffon and Bubblegum Premium Dye inks and spattered a little gold ink over it.

All the images were colored with Copics. The unicorn and the rainbow were cut out with the matching dies. As I stamped the stars and trails using the masking technique, I cut them out with scissors.

I added some shimmer to the rainbow and star trails with a Wink of Stella pen.
After I stamped the sentiment in Latter Premium Dye ink, I adhered the panel to a Blue Breeze card base.

Make sure that all the new products will be available for purchase on May 3rd at 10:00 pm EST.

MFT May Release Countdown Day 5

April 29, 2016

The MFT May Release Countdown has begun! We have a lot of fabulous new products to share with you for the next 5 days! Be sure to stop by the MFT blog everyday to see full reveals of the new products and for more inspiration from the fabulous DT.

For my card today I combined the new Pretty Posies stamp set and the Because You stamp & Die-namics set.

To create my background pattern, I randomly stamped the flowers and leaves from the Pretty Posies stamp set on a Primitive White panel. The ink colors I used are Pineapple, Pure Plum, Tropical Teal, and Gravel Gray.  There is a lined flower stamp matched with the solid image I used here in the set. But I used only the solid one, because it reminded me of a flower pattern from Marimekko and I wanted to try to make a pattern like that. (The result is far from it though. Ha ha!)

I die cut out the "because" from Steel Grey CS twice and layered them for a little thickness. I glued it to the panel after I stamped a sentiment from Because You stamp set in Gravel Gray Premium Dye ink. (The Because You stamps and die set will be revealed on the MFT blog a few days later.)
After I adhered the panel to a Steel Gray card base, I rounded the bottom corners with a corner rounder punch.

All the new products will be available for purchase on May 3rd at 10:00 pm EST.

Birthday Bear Hug : MFT Creative Construction with Blueprints

April 26, 2016

I’m sure you can relate - you’ve created a beautiful background or set an impressive scene but are stumbling on the placement of your sentiment. MFT's extensive collection of Blueprints includes a wide variety of sentiment strips, tags, and flags that will provide a humble home for showcasing your sentiment in style.

I used a stitched fishtail banner die from the Blueprints 20 Die-namics for my sentiment panel, and grounded the bear and the trees from the Forest Friends stamp set on it. I use this die so often to cut out a sentiment panel, because I love its stitching lines and there are so many sentiment stamps that fit in it perfectly.

I also used a flag die from the Blueprints 27 Die-namics to create the bunting. Patterned papers are from the Trail Mix Paper Pack that are included in the Warm & Fuzzy Friends Card Kit.

Head on over to the MFT blog to see what the other DT members have come up with for today! I'm sure you'll be inspired a lot by their fabulous creations. :)

Thank you for stopping by. Happy crafting!
