CAS(E) this Sketch #82 : Guest Designing!

June 26, 2014

I'm sorry for being MIA for a loooong time! As I said before, when I'm quiet on my blog, it generally means that I am busy working on the illustrations for my new stamp sets.;)
But today I'm back with a card I made for this weeks CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge (CTS #82) as a guest designer!!

At the moment I saw the sketch, I knew what image I would use. I have a PERFECT digi for this!:D

The image is a digital stamp I sold at my digital stamp shop. (For those who are new to my blog, I had run a digital stamp shop until last year.) The sentiment is from Talk Bubbles 2 (SSS), which was stamped onto a die cut speech bubble and was white embossed. The chevron paper is from Happy Go Lucky paper pad (Fancy Pants), and several enamel dots were added for more texture.

I'd like to thank CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge for giving me this wonderful opportunity and for providing such a fun sketch to work with!

Thank you for stopping by today. I won't be able to come back to 'normal' for a few more weeks. But I hope I will be able to have some time for card making soon! Until then!

Wonderful in Every Way

June 11, 2014

Today I played along with the Cure For The Monday Blues Challenge again. I love the inspiration photos Taheerah picks for her challenge every week. They are beautiful and cute, and there are so many ways to be inspired!

You can easily see what element in the photo inspired me!:D Yes, that bold flower pattern on the carpet.

I purchased the Cluster of Carnations die (Memory Box) a while ago, but I didn't get a chance to use it until now! I cut out the flowers from black card stock, then inlaid the petals with Pure Poppy, Orange Zest (PTI), and Gold Coins (Bazzill) CS. I used a Wink Of Stella to add a little shine to the flowers.

I used the Stitched Mats : Rectangles dies (Lil' Inker Designs) to create a bold black frame. I backed it with Ocean Tides CS (PTI) on which I stamped the Circle Fusion 2 (Impression Obsession) in Versa Mark ink.
The sentiment is from Everyday Greetings set (Mama Elephant).

Thank you for stopping by!

MFT June Release Day!

It's the release day at MFT!! All the new products are available for purchase now!

I know that this month's new products are FABULOUS as always, so your wish list is so looooong! LOL! If you haven't decided to add the Everyday Is a Picnic stamp set and Die-namics to your shopping cart yet, I hope the card I'm sharing with you today pushes you!;)

For today's card I combined Everyday Is a Picnic set with some cute patterned paper from Seen and Noted 6x6 paper pad by Pebbles. (I couldn't find a link to the pad.)

First I stamped the girl image onto a die cut piece, then colored her with Copics.
I've heard that some people say stamping onto a die cut peace precisely is difficult. If you have this kind of difficulty, I highly recommend you to use a Fiskars Stamp Press or Martha Stewart Footed Stamp Mount. I usually use Fiskars Compact Stamp Press for large images, and Martha Stewart Small Footed Stamp Mount for smaller images.

I created a scene with the small images from the set onto a circle panel, then colored it with Copics. It may be hard to see in the photo, but I added a bit shimmer onto the butterflies and the little flowers on the girl's camisole and hat with a Wink Of Stella pen.

I die cut two flags using Sentiment Stripes Die-namics, stamped a sentiment onto one of them, and sewed them onto the background panel with a sewing machine.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you'll enjoy shopping at the MFT boutique!
