Sending You Smile - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 313

December 28, 2016

Hello everyone! Today I'm sharing a card I made for this weeks MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge (WSC 313). It's the last sketch challenge for this year!

I thought I would create a little scene on the rectangle panel in the sketch, and decided to use the smaller banner as a sentiment panel.

First I die cut a stitched rectangle panel and created a cloudy sky background over it using the Stitched Cloud Edges Die-namics and Summer Splash Premium Dye ink. I stamped the grasses in Gumdrop Green and added some pink spots with a Copic marker. The bees, which are from the Fly-By Friends stamp set, were adhered on the panel with foam tape after the trails were stamped in Cement Gray.
The sentiment was white embossed on a Persimmon panel cut with a die from the Blueprints 28 Die-namics, and the striped panel was cut from a patterned paper from the Dots& Stripes Sorbet Paper Pack.

After I stenciled the Mini Chicken Wire on the front of a Smooth White card base using Limelight Premium Dye ink, I put everything together and added a few sequins to finish off the card.

Head on over to the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog for the challenge details and for more inspiration from the DT! I hope you will find some time for paper crafting and play along with us this week. :)

This will be the last blog post from me this year. I'd like to say a BIG THANK YOU to you all for visiting my blog, for your lovely & sweet comments, and for your support for my Birdie Brown stamp sets. Your warm words always encourage me and give me a lot of energy & strength!

for everything you did for me this year
May the new year bring you a lot of

Hug in a Mug - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 312

December 21, 2016

It's time for a new sketch challenge over at the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog

Since it's been so cold here in Japan, I wanted to make a card that warms someone's heart. :) I pulled out the Hot Cocoa Cups Die-namics and the Hug in a Mug stamp set, and whipped up this card.

I cut a panel from Latte CS using the Inside & Out Stitched Rounded Rectangle STAX Die-namics and stenciled the Chunky Herringbone pattern over it using Milk Chocolate Premium Dye ink. It was adhered to a Milk Chocolate card base with foam tape.

I die cut and put together two cocoa cups and adhered them to the stenciled panel. The stitching lines on the cups were hand drawn with gel pens. I placed the marshmallows so that they look like falling down, as I wanted to add a little movement to the card.
The sentiment was white embossed on a Tropical Teal panel, and a small die-cut snowflake was added for a circle element in the sketch.

Check out the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog for the challenge details and for more inspiration from the other DT. I know it's the busiest season of year, but I hope you'll play along with us this week. :)

Thank you so much for visiting!
