Birdhouses - MFT WSC 365

December 27, 2017

It's time for a new sketch challenge (WSC 365) over at the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog. I think many of you have been very busy because of the holiday season. But I hope you'll take a little time to participate in the challenge.  :)

The Stitched Tag-Corner Square STAX might be the first choice for this week's sketch. But I wanted to do something different to inspire you. Here is my take.

I decided to replace the octagon elements with birdhouses. I die cut out the birdhouses from various colors of cardstock and adhered to the scalloped rectangle panel cut with the Blueprints 27 Die-namics.  I embellished the taller birdhouses with die-cut swirls and the small birdhouses with a white gel pen.

I also added several tiny die-cut birds. They're super cute! :):) The sentiment is from the Essential Sentiments stamp set. It was white embossed on Milk Chocolate CS and cut out with a die from the Blueprints 27 Die-namics.

This will be the last post from me for this year. Thank you so much for visiting my blog and taking time to leave sweet comments. I greatly appreciate your so much love for my Birdie Brown stamp line. It's been another great year for me and it didn't happen without your support and encouragement! I promise that I'll keep trying to make more cute stamp sets and more inspiring projects next year.

Happy New Year!

MFT Furever Friends Card Kit Release

December 20, 2017

It's time to shop! The new Furever Friends Card Kit is available for purchase now!

I'm sharing a shaker card with you today. As the kit features neutral colors, I thought I could make a masculine shaker card.

I used the Stitched Dome STAX Die-namics to create my shaker window and put in some pearls and Sparkling Clear Star sequins as shaker element. The "FRIEND" was die cut with the Friend Die-namics and I stamped a sentiment from the Furever Friends stamp set with Kraft ink.

MFT December Card Kit Countdown Day 1

December 18, 2017

It's Day 1 of the MFT December Card Kit Countdown. The new kit is called Furever Friends and it will be available for purchase on December 19 at 9:00 pm EST. Make sure you stop by the MFT blog today and tomorrow for the full reveal of the kit and for more inspiration from the DT.

(NOTE: The products written in boldface are included in the kit.)
I combined the kit with the You Trio Die-namics and created a pair of cards for today.

First I randomly stamped the paw prints from the Furever Friends stamp set all over the Smooth White panel and cut off the bottom edge with the Stitched Basic Edges Die-namics. Then I cut out "YOU" from it and stamped the sentiment. (I curved it for the black one.) I cut out "YOU"s from Kraft and Cement Grey CS four times for each and layered only "Y"s and "U"s. I adhered the cats, that I stamped on X-Press It Blending Card and colored with Copics and colored pencils, with foam dots instead of layering the die-cut "O"s.

Coffee Break - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 363

December 13, 2017

Today I'm sharing a card with you that I made for this weeks MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge.

As I liked the simpleness on this weeks sketch, I decided to keep my card simple.

First I prepared the rectangle panel and three coffee cup images and put them onto the card front temporarily. Then I stamped the steam and hearts directly onto the card base. I adhered the rectangle panel and cups with foam tape, and added the sentiment panel.
After I rounded the bottom corners with a corner chomper, it looked too clean. So I decided to add the stitching lines along the edges with a grey gel pen.

Hexagon Patterns - MFT Release Replay

December 12, 2017

It's time for MFT Release Replay DT Challenge. Today the MFT DT is taking a fresh look at our most recent release with inspiring ideas and innovative takes on the complete collection. We love the opportunity to look at our products with fresh eyes, envisioning entirely new ways to showcase the possibilities they present!

When I looked at the Honeycomb Background stamp closely, I thought of a hexagonal quilt pattern called Grandmother's Flower Garden. I searched for hexagon quilt patterns on Pinterest and found some inspirational images.

For my first card I created a floral background for the cute bees from the Meant to Bee stamp set.

I heat embossed the honeycomb pattern onto a piece of Smooth White CS and cut it with the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2 Die-namics. Then I colored in some of the cells with Copic Markers to create a pattern.
I cut out the sentiment window using the Stitched Oval Word Windows Die-namics, applied the sentiment panel from the backside, and adhered the panel to the Pineapple panel with foam tape. I stamped the trails with Steel Grey ink and adhered the bees with foam tape. I added Glossy Accents to the wings to finish off the card.

I created another pattern for my second card, inspired by a snowflake pattern I saw on Pinterest.

I used the You Trio Die-namics and the All About You stamp set for my sentiment.

There are so many possibilities on this fun background stamp! You can get a completely different look by only changing the colors. Actually I tried a few more patterns, I haven't made them into a card though. :)

December 5, 2017

It's final day of the MFT December Release Countdown! All the new products will be available for purchase TONIGHT at 9:00 pm EST!

MFT December Release Countdown Day 2 - Royal Friend

December 4, 2017

It's Day 2 of the MFT December Release Countdown. We're so close to the release day!!

Today I'm showcasing the Royal Friend stamp set & Die-namics.

I challenged my self to do no-line coloring with colored pencils!! It was really challenging since I hadn't used colored pencils for years. When I started card making, I didn't have Copics and used to color stamped images with colored pencils. Then I completely switched to Copics and gave my colored pencils to my daughter. However, I bought a new set of watercolor pencils last month and was eager to try it.
I stamped the adorable bear with Antique Linen Distress ink onto watercolor paper. I wasn't confident enough to add water to my colored image this time. Probably next time... :)

To create my background panel, I stamped a piece of Blue Yonder CS with Moroccan Lattice Background using Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it. I cut it with a die from the  A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX  Set 1 Die-namics. I added a panel of Cranberry Cocktail CS and a strip of Gold CS to the bottom portion, and matted it with Blueberry and Blue Breeze panels.
The sentiment was gold embossed on Black Licorice CS and I cut it out with the Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips Die-namics. I adhered them to the Grout Gray card base and added several Ice Cube Jewels to finish off the card.

All the new products will be available for purchase tomorrow at 9:00 pm EST.

MFT December Release Countdown Day 3 - Meant to Bee

December 3, 2017

Welcome to Day 3 of the MFT December Release Countdown!

Today I'm sharing a springlike card that features the Meant to Bee stamp set, the More Rustic Wildflowers stamp set, and the Stitched Tag Corner Rectangle STAX Die-namics.

I cut a panel from Smooth White CS using the Stitched Tag Corner Rectangle STAX Die-namics and created a stamped wreath with the More Rustic Wildflowers stamp set, which will be revealed on the MFT blog a couple of days later. To stamp the flowers, I used Premium Dye ink cubes. The ink cubes are useful for small stamps! I also added some details to the flowers with a white gel pen.

I stamped the heart shaped trail from the Meant to Bee stamp set to the center and colored it with Copics. This trail stamp is really cute 💓The bees were stamped on X-Press It Blending card and were colored with Copics. I cut them out with the matching dies and adhered with foam tape. After I stamped the sentiment with Hot Fudge Premium Dye ink, I adhered the panel to the card base along with a panel of patterned paper.

I added more tiny spots around the flowers with Crystal Drops (English Mustard and Carnation Pink) and covered the heart and bees' wings with Glossy Accents.

We're halfway to the big day! All the new products will be available for purchase on December 5 at 9:00 pm EST
