Interactive Birthday Card - MFT Creative Construction with Blueprints

February 28, 2017

For this month's MFT Creative Construction with Blueprints DT Challenge, we are challenged to create an interactive card. It isn't a secret that I LOVE making interactive cards!! :D

I chose the Blueprints 24 Die-namics to create a slider card. It includes a stitched tab die, and I found that one of the panel dies was the perfect size for the candle image in the Make a Wish stamp set

First I cut two rectangle panels from Smooth White CS and Lemon Drop CS using a die from the Blueprints 24 Die-namics. I stamped the candles onto the Smooth White panel in three colors using the masking technique and a Mini MISTI, then cut out the flames with the Birthday Candles Die-namics. After I stamped the sentiment, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY", in Chocolate Brown, I adhered the panel to the Lemon Drop panel with foam tape and added the tiny die-cut hearts to the flames.
To create a slider panel, I cut another panel of Smooth White CS and stamped a sentiment from the Make a Wish stamp set in Chocolate Brown. I added a pull-out tab cut from Blu Raspberry CS and bakers twine.
The background panel was die cut from polka dot paper. I matted it with a Whip Cream panel and adhered to a Razzle Berry card base.

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 321

February 22, 2017

Hello everyone! I'm back with a card I made for this weeks MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge (WSC321).

Here is this weeks sketch.
And my take...

I used the Starry Circle Die-namics for the circular element in the sketch and stenciled the Concentric Circle Grid instead of the scallop frame.

The astronaut boy from the Space Explorer stamp set was stamped onto X-Press It Blending Card and was colored with Copics. The striped patterned paper is from the Painted Prints Citrus paper pad.

Head on over to the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog for the challenge details and for more inspiration from the DT. I hope you'll play along with us this week. :)

MFT February Card Kit Release

The new MFT Card Kit, Beautiful Butterflies is available for purchase in the MFT store now!!

I'd like to share one more card with you that I made using the new card kit.

(NOTE: The products written in boldface are included in the kit.)
I combined a beautiful butterfly from the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set with a Stitched Square Scallop Edge Frame and the Etched Flower Background stamp

I white embossed the Etched Flower Background stamp onto a panel of watercolor paper, then daubed some Distress Inks (Spun Sugar, Worn Lipstick, and Scattered Straw) over it. The sentiment, which is from the You Give Me Butterflies stamp set, was gold embossed on a Smooth White panel.

I die cut three frames from Smooth White CS and layered them.
I stamped a solid butterfly image with Grape Jelly Premium Dye Ink and die cut it with the matching die. The coordinated line image was stamped onto vellum using Versa Mark ink and was heat embossed with black embossing powder. I cut it out with the matching die, added a little color with a Copic Marker, and layered it over the solid image.

I also added some shimmer to the wings with a Wink of Stella pen. Several sequins were added to finish off the card.
