MFT October Release Countdown Day 4

September 30, 2017

Welcome to Day 4 of the MFT October Release Countdown. Today I'm introducing my new stamp set & Die-namics, Happy Pawlidays!!

The winter holiday season is the busiest time of the year... These pups may not be able to help you decorate your Christmas tree, but I hope these sweet & funny furry friends brighten up your home!

I created a tri-fold window card by combining the Happy Pawlidays stamp set and the New York Skyline Die-namics. Here are a couple of photos showing how it opens.

You can write a message under the night sky, and it won't be seen through the window on the front when the card is closed.

To create this card, I started with a standard A2 card base. I stamped the front with the Bold Diagonal Stripes BG using Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with Silver Pearl embossing powder. I cut out a rectangle window using the A2 Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics and added a sheet of acetate and a silver frame. Then I adhered the dog and tree images.

I die cut the skyline from Smooth White CS and adhered to the inside of the card base as shown in the photo below. I created a night sky background on a panel of watercolor paper using Distress Inks (the colors are listed at the bottom of this blog post) and a white gel pen, and white embossed the sentiment. Then I adhered it to the inside of the card.

The new products will be available for purchase on October 3 at 9:00 pm EDT.

MFT October Release Countdown Day 5

September 29, 2017

The MFT October Release Countdown has begun! This month's release is packed with fabulous stamps and Die-namics for Christmas!! We have a lot to share and I can't showcase all of the new products during the countdown. So make sure you stop by the MFT blog everyday for next five days to see the full reveal of the new products, and don't forget to leave a comment there for your chance to win a prize.

I'm kicking off my countdown with this card, which features the adorable Polar Pals stamp set & Die-namics.

I die cut a rectangle panel out of watercolor paper using the A2 Rectangle STAX Set 2 Die-namics and created my background using the masking technique and Distress Inks. (The ink colors I used are listed at the bottom of this blog post.)

To add some glitter to the icebergs and the icy ground, I applied Versa Mark ink using a Versa Marker Pen and heat embossed with Bridal Tinsel Embossing Powder. My camera didn't catch it well, but it looks so pretty in real life. :)

I raised up seals' nose with thin foam squares to add a little dimension.

All the new products will be available for purchase on October 3 at 9:00 pm EDT

Watercolor Galaxy - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #352

September 27, 2017

Today I'm sharing a card I made for MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #352

I tried creating a watercolor galaxy background for the first time. Yes, FINALLY! LOL! I've made galaxy backgrounds with the ink blending technique a few times. But, I was so scared to do it with watercoloring. After watching a lot of video tutorials and wasting tons of watercolor paper, I got this.

I used Distress Inks for my watercoloring (The colors I used are listed at the bottom of this blog post.) and added the white spots with a white gel pen. I'm still not so sure about this result, but I found that it was easier than ink blending, at least for me.

Now let's get into the sketch challenge.

I put the astronaut from the Space Explorer stamp set instead of the circle element in the sketch. The rectangle panels were cut with the A2 Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics, and the patterned paper is from the Painted Prints Smitten paper pack.

I filmed my coloring process of the astronaut image. No special technique, just in case you're interested. :)  Click HERE to watch the video on YouTube.

Mix It Up! : MFT Creative Construction with Blueprints

September 21, 2017

It's time for a Creative Construction with Blueprints Challenge over at the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog. This month's challenge is to create a card with combining elements from a variety of Blueprints Die-namics.

I used the Blueprints 24, Blueprints 27, and Blueprints 28 Die-namics to create my card today.
I cut my background panel using a scallop rectangle die from the Blueprints 27 Die-namics. I stamped it with the Whimsical Woodgrain Background, then cut out a fishtail banner panel from it using the Blueprints 24. I also cut the grassy panel using the Blueprints 24 and the Grassy Fields Die-namics. I cut a Milk Chocolate panel using the Blueprints 24, added hemp cord, and attached the focal panel to it with Thin 3D Foam Squares. I tied a bow and adhered the hedgehogs. The sentiment was stamped onto a panel of In the Buff CS cut with a die from the Blueprints 28.
After all the panels were adhered to the card base, I added the sequins to finish off the card.

MFT Snow Globe Card Kit Release

September 20, 2017

It's time to shop! The Snow Globe Card Kit is available for purchase now!

I have one more card to share with you that I made using the Snow Globe Card kit.
(NOTE: The products written in boldface are included in the kit.)

First I stamped the front of my card with the Snowfall Background using silver ink, then cut out a dome window using the Snow Globe Die-namics

The "joy" was cut out of Kraft CS using the Joy Die-namics which is this month's mid-month Free with $60 die. The "HAPPY HOLIDAYS" is from the Snow Globe Sentiments stamp set and it was white embossed on a panel of Gravel Gray CS.

I created a snowy night scene inside of the card using the Scenic Snow Globe Die-namics. The falling snow was drawn with a white gel pen.

I applied some liquid glue along the edges of my snowy hills and sprinkled Diamond Dust over it. I was amazed with that Diamond Dust stuck to card stock nicely after the glue had dried! They never fall down.

MFT September Card Kit Countdown Day 2

September 19, 2017

It's Day 2 of the MFT Snow Globe Card Kit Countdown. The new kit will be available for purchase at 9:00 pm EDT tonight!

Today I combined the kit with some previously released products.

I created a scene in my snow globe using the Polar Bear Pals stamp set & Die-namics and Icebergs Die-namics. And I made a word window using the Stitched Oval Word Windows Die-namics and white embossed the sentiment on a panel of Sour Apple CS.

Of course I couldn't help using the Diamond Dust for my shaker! I also added some pearls as I wanted to add more movement. I recommend to apply some anti static powder to the inside of shaker pouches so the Diamond Dust won't stick here and there.

MFT September Card Kit Countdown Day 1

September 18, 2017

The MFT September Card Kit Countdown has begun! The new kit will be available for purchase TOMORROW at 9:00 pm EDT. Make sure you stop by the MFT blog today and tomorrow for the full reveal of the kit and for more inspiration from the DT.

The new kit is called Snow Globe. It contains everything you need to create adorable snow globe shaker cards!

I made a square card for today. Almost all the supplies I used are included in the kit - except the Stitched Mini Scallop Square STAX Die-namics which I used to cut the main panel, small pearls, and some other basic supplies.
The scene in my snow globe was made with the Scenic Snow Globe Die-namics. You can cut a snowman (with accessories), a house, a couple of trees, and snow drifts. Everything is perfectly sized to fit in the Snow Globe Die-namics and Dome Shaker Pouches!

It might hard to see in the first photo above, but I put some Diamond Dust for my shaker. Isn't it an essential element for a snow globe? Of course it is included in the kit. :)

Now head on over to the MFT blog to see what the other DT members have made for today!

Thank you for stopping by.

Pop-Up Thanks Cards - MFT Release Replay

September 12, 2017

Today the MFT DT is taking a fresh look at our most recent release with inspiring ideas and innovative takes on the complete collection. We love the opportunity to look at our products with fresh eyes, envisioning entirely new ways to showcase the possibilities they present!

I'm sharing three ideas on how to use the new Pop-Up Alphabet Die-namics with a tutorial video.
I used the Modern Trees stamp set & Die-namics, the Puffy Clouds Die-namics, and the Stitched Scallop Basic Edges 2 Die-namics to embellish my cards. The other supplies I used are listed at the bottom of this blog post.

#1: Simple Pop-Up Word Card
You can make this type of cards with the Partial Die-cutting technique. But, the Pop-Up Alphabet Die-namics makes the process pretty easy since these dies don't cut the bottom of the letters, just add score lines.

#2: Pop-Up Word Fold Card
Hmmm....I'm not sure about this ↑ name. Please let me know if you have a good idea on how I should call this type of card.
It looks very similar to #1 card when you only see the front of the card. But, the top of the alphabets are not cut, so the word "THANKS" continues in the inside.

#3: Surprise Pop-Up Card
This is a basic pop-up card. The die-cut word is concealed in the inside.

See how I made these cards in the video below. Or click HERE to watch it on YouTube.

Hugs from Bitty Bears - MFT September New Product Launch

September 6, 2017

It's time to shop! MFT September Release is live now!!

Please remember that MFT has a site-wide sale from September 5 - 12 and they will be donating 10% of gross sales to charities for Hurricane Harvey relief. You can see the details on the MFT blog or watch THIS video message from Kim. It's a chance for you to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

I'd like to send my thoughts to Texas by sharing a card that I made using the new Bitty Bears stamp set.

First I cut out three openings from a Smooth White panel with the Mod Rectangle STAX and Mod Square STAX Die-namics. After I adhered the "HUGS" and stamped the sentiment, I adhered the panel to the card base, which I added a strip of patterned paper to the left side, with foam tape.
I die cut a Mod Rectangle and two Mod Squares from colored CS, inked each piece, then embedded in the openings. I adhered the bears and hearts with foam tape and added some details with a white gel pen.
