MFT June Card Kit Countdown Day 1

June 25, 2018

The MFT June Card Kit Release Countdown has begun! The new kit is called Birds of a Feather and it will be available for purchase on June 26 at 9:00 pm EDT. Make sure you visit the MFT blog for the full reveal of the kit and for more inspiration from the DT!

(NOTE: The products written in boldface are included in the kit.)
I went with a graphical design for my card today. First, I die cut a panel of Smooth White with the A2 Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics and scored some horizontal lines using my Scor-Buddy and Teflon Bone Folder
I die cut the circles from Cornflower, Purple Rain, Pineapple, and Poppy card stock using the Circle STAX Set 1 and Set 2 Die-namics, then cut the birds, flowers, and hearts out of them using the Birds of a Feather Die-namics. I adhered the negative pieces to the Smooth White panel, and also cut and adhered the wings. A jewel picker helped me so much when I picked up and adhered those teeny tiny eyes!

I stamped a sentiment from A Tweet Hello stamp set with Gravel Gray Premium Dye Ink. I attached the panel to the card base with foam tape and added several Clear Round Drops (3mm, 6mm) to finish off the card.

Happy Bear-thday! - MFT Birthday Project Challenge

June 21, 2018

It's time for a new Birthday Project Challenge over at the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog. This month we're challenged to use bears on our birthday projects.

I chose the Beary Special Birthday stamp set & Die-namics, the Wish Die-namics, and the Circle Burst stencil to create my card for today.
I die cut a panel of Smooth White card stock using the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics and stenciled the Circle Burst using Lemon Chiffon and Bubblegum Premium Dye Inks to create a background. I die cut the "WISH" out of it, and also cut the word three times out of Bubblegum card stock. I stacked them up after adhering the panel to the card base.

I stamped the bear image on watercolor paper with Kraft Hybrid Ink and colored with watercolors. I'm obsessed with watercoloring recently. Honestly, I'm not so happy with how my coloring turned out. :( I'm still learning the basics of watercolor techniques by watching so many tutorial videos on YouTube. I know that watching videos doesn't improve my skill, those videos are very helpful in knowing about basic techniques though. I need to do a lot of practice and experiments, just wish I had more free time for that.
Anyway, I cut out the colored image with the matching die, cut off one of his legs (Ouch!), and adhered next to the "H" so he is peeking out from behind the word. I stamped the "Happy Bear-thday" on a speech bubble cut with a die from the Essential Speech Bubbles Die-namics. Several sequins were added to finish off the card.

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 390

June 20, 2018

Hello!! Today I'm sharing a card that I made for this week's MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge (WSC 390).

To create this card, I cut a Smooth White panel using the A2 Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics and stamped it with the Triple Stripe Background using Lemon Drop Premium Dye Ink. (I'm really sorry that the Triple Background stamp has just retired. I made this card before I got to know it was on the retirement products list.) Then I cut out two openings with the Mod Square STAX Die-namics and stamped the sentiment with Hot Fudge Premium Dye Ink. I made a watercolored background on a panel of watercolor paper, adhered it to the card base, and attached the stamped panel over it with foam tape.

The bird images were stamped on watercolor paper with Kraft Hybrid Ink and were colored with watercolors. The leaves were stamped with Limelight and Dill Pickle Premium Dye Inks. I cut them out with the matching dies and adhered with foam tape. I added several Clear Round Drops (3mm, 6mm, 8mm) to finish off the card.

MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 389

June 13, 2018

It's time for a new sketch challenge over at the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog.
This week's sketch is very simple, so it has many possibilities.

First I cut a panel of watercolor paper with the largest die from the A2 Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics. I made a watercolor background and stamped the schools of small fish from the Beach Buds stamp set with Tropical Teal Premium Dye Ink.

I stamped the fish with Kraft Hybrid Ink on watercolor paper and colored it with watercolor. After it dried, I cut it out with the matching die and adhered with foam tape. The sentiment was white embossed on a Purple Rain panel cut with the Slanted Sentiment Strips Die-namics. After I adhered the panel to a Summer Splash card base, I added a couple of Crystal Clear Confetti to finish off the card.

Emboss Resist on Colored Card Stock - June MFT & Friends

June 12, 2018

Hello, hello! I'm really sorry for being silent for a long time. I needed to get some rest because of sickness. I've completely recovered now and have finally come back to blogging!

Today I'd like to share a card with you that uses some of the new products from the MFT June Release. Actually, I intended to share this card during the release countdown. However, I missed a chance since I decided not to participate in the countdown.

I used the emboss resist technique to create this card. I stamped the Moroccan Mosaic Background onto Berrylicious card stock with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. Then I daubed some Blueberry Premium Dye Ink over it using an ink blending tool. I trimmed it, added a Smooth White panel, and attached to a Blue Raspberry card base with foam tape.

I die cut the "WOW" from Smooth White card stock three times and slightly inked one of them with Blu Raspberry Premium Dye Ink to get an ombre look. I stacked them up, the inked one on top and added a little shimmer with a Wink of Stella pen. I white embossed the words "You're Amazing", which is from the You Wow Me stamp set, on Safety Orage card stock and cut it out with a banner die from the Hearts in a Row - Vertical Die-namics. I adhered it to the panel with thin 3D foam squares.

Today some of the DT members and fabulous guest designers are sharing new ideas on using the newly released products on the MFT blog. Make sure you stop by the MFT blog to see what they have come up with for today!

Congratulations, Love Birds! - MFT Color Challenge 94

May 24, 2018

Hello! Today I'm sharing a card that I made for the MFT Color Challenge 94

The color palette is so fresh and lovely, isn't it? These colors made me want to play with felt!

I made the Mini Rolled Roses with Lemon Chiffon and Peach Bellini felt and cut the leaves from Summer Splash felt using the Fab Foliage Die-namics. I embellished the Garden Gate with these roses and leaves, and added two birds that are from the A Tweet Hello stamp set.
To create my background panel, I stamped a piece of Smooth White card stock with Itsy Bitsy Polkadots Background using Lemon Chitton Premium Dye Ink and cut it with the Stitched Rectangle Scallop Edge Frames Die-namics. I adhered only the inside piece onto the card base, then added a Lemon Chiffon frame.

Painted Prints Card Kit Release

May 23, 2018

The new MFT Card Kit, Painted Prints is available for purchase now!

(NOTE: The products written in boldface are included in the kit.)
To create my background, I die cut a striped panel from Smooth White card stock using the Striped Sentiment Strip Cover-Up Die-namics and stamped the "Miss You", which is from the Brushstroke Expressions stamp set, with Hot Fudge Premium Dye Ink. After I drew a dashed-line frame with a gray Copic Multi Liner, I added a panel of Peach Bellini and adhered to the card base.

I stamped the flowers and leaves and cut them out with the matching dies. Ink colors used are listed below. I die cut the flower vase from Kraft card stock and stamped it with the Marble Background using Kraft Premium Dye Ink. The flower vase die is the new mid-month Free with $60 Die-namics! :)
After I put everything together, I added a tiny bow to the vase and several Ice Cube Jewels around the flowers to finish off the card.

Painted Prints Card Kit Countdown Day 2

May 22, 2018

Welcome to Day 2 of the MFT Painted Prints Card Kit Countdown. The new kit will be available for purchase tomorrow (May 22) at 9 PM EDT

(Note: The products written in boldface are included in the kit.)
I stamped the flowers and leaves from the Painted Prints stamp set randomly on a piece of Smooth White card stock to create my own patterned paper. The ink colors used are listed at the bottom of this blog post. My daughter said that it would be pretty if this pattern was on a dress for summer. I totally agree! :D
I cut the stamped panel with a scalloped rectangle die from the Blueprints 27, then cut out a  Stitched Rectangle Scallop Edge Frame from it to make a camouflage frame. I also cut the frame three times from Blue Breeze card stock and layered them under the stamped frame.

I stamped a sentiment from the Brushstroke Expressions stamp set with Safety Orange Premium Dye Ink onto a panel cut with the Stitched Mini Scallop Oval STAX Die-namics. Then I inked around the sentiment with Antique Linen Distress Ink. I adhered the sentiment panel with foam tape and added several Clear Droplets to finish off the card.
