I die cut confetti from Bubblegum, Daffodil, Berrylicious, and Persimmon cardstock using the Celebratory Confetti Die-namics and adhered to the top part of the card front randomly. I also added a little sparkle with Champagne Stickles

MFT January Card Kit Countdown Day 1

January 22, 2018

MFT January Card Kit Countdown has begun! This month's kit is called "Yay for You" and it features the word "Yay" and bright and cheery colors. Celebrate someone you love with a special card made with this fun kit!

(Note: The products written in boldface are included in the kit.)
I made a shaker card for today. I cut confetti from various colors of cardstock (All the colors used are included in the kit) using the Celebratory Confetti Die-namics and sealed them with a piece of translucent vellum and a Chevron Segments Cover-Up panel.

I die cut the "Yay" twice, once from Smooth White and once from Persimmon cardstock, using the So Many Yays Die-namics. Then I adhered them together, slightly offset for a little shadow effect. The words "IT'S YOUR DAY" is from the Yay for You stamp set. It was heat embossed on Steel Grey cardstock and cut out with a strip die from the Hearts in a Row - Vertical Die-namics. A few Gold Stars Sequins were added to finish off the card.

New Birthday Project Challenge!

January 18, 2018

A new monthly challenge has started over at the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog! It's the Birthday Project Challenge and it features ideas for getting creative with your birthday card making.

Of course, you will have a chance to win a $50 gift voucher by participating this challenge! Make sure you visit the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog for more info about the challenge. :)

This month's theme is to use the word "celebrate" on our project. I used the Celebrate Die-namics and paired it with the Big Birthday Balloons Die-namics.

Have I mentioned that I'm obsessed with watercolor pencils recently? I made the watercolor washes on the balloons and the background with my watercolor pencils and a water brush pen. I had so much fun and watercoloring is not stressful for me any longer!

I drew the strings with a gray Copic Multi Liner and stamped a sentiment from the More Essential Sentiments stamp set under the die-cut "celebrate" with Cement Gray ink. Several gold star sequins were added to finish off the card.

Sending You Strength - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 367

January 10, 2018

It's time for a new sketch challenge over at the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog.

I played with the newly released Viking stamp set & Die-namics.
I stamped him onto watercolor paper with Kraft Hybrid ink and colored with watercolor pencils. The scene behind him was also painted with watercolor pencils and a water brush pen. I'm getting into watercolor pencils and I've watched a lot of tutorial videos to learn some techniques. You'll see more of my coloring with watercolor pencils this year! :D

The sentiment is from the Essential Sentiments stamp set and it was heat embossed on a Brick Red panel cut with a strip die from the new Hearts in a Row - Horizontal Die-namics. The striped paper is from the Kraft Collection - Solid Stripes Paper Pack.

Head on over to the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog for the challenge details and for more inspiration from the DT. You'll have a chance to win a $50 voucher by participating in the challenge!

In Paris Shadow Box Card - MFT January New Product Launch

It's time to shop! MFT January Release is available for purchase now!

I made a shadow box card with the In Paris stamp set & Die-namics for this month's Release Class

A shadow box card is really fun to make and the In Paris set is perfect for creating a diorama! A fun part of this card is that it fits in a standard A2 envelope when it is folded as you see in the photo below.

I'm sure the recipient will get excited when she notices that the card is dimensional and will display it with delight.

You can see how to create this card in a downloadable PDF for free or watch the tutorial video HERE.

Heart Maze - MFT January Release Countdown Day 1

January 9, 2018

It's final day of the MFT January Release Countdown! All the new products we've been showcasing this past five days will be available for purchase tonight at 9:00 pm EST!

Today I'm sharing an interactive Valentine's Day card that features the Heart Maze Shape and the Blowing Kisses stamp set & Die-namics.

The Heart Maze Shapes are perfectly coordinated with the Heart Shaker Pouches! I used the previously released Heart Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics to frame my maze, but this month's Free with $60 die, Stitched Heart Peek-a-Boo Window Die-namics also works perfectly. I added three red tiny rounded stones instead of Maze Spheres since I thought some red elements would look cute against the pink background.

I stamped the new PI girl onto watercolor paper with Milk Chocolate Hybrid ink and colored her with Copics and watercolor pencils. I added several tiny die-cut hearts around her and covered the hearts with Glossy Accents.

Head on over to the MFT blog to see all the products revealed today and for more inspiration from the DT.
You can also find a printable shopping list there. Print it out, make your shopping list, then set the alarm at 9:00 pm EST tonight. ;)

Monster-Sized Love - MFT January Release Countdown Day 2

January 8, 2018

It's Day 2 of the MFT January Release Countdown. We're so close to the release day! All the new products will be available for purchase tomorrow at 9:00 pm EST.

I have a monster-rously fun card to share with you today.

I love the silly expressions of the monsters in the Monster Sized stamp set. I can't help giggling every time I look at them. :D
I cut a Smooth White panel with the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2 Die-namics and cut out three heart-shaped openings from it using the Stitched Heart Peek-a-Boo Window Die-namics, which is this month's Free with $60 Die-namics. I stamped some monsters and hearts (from the In Paris stamp set) around the openings with Natural ink and adhered the panel to the card base with foam tape.

I blended Distress Inks on the cut-out heart pieces and inlaid them into the openings. The monsters were stamped, colored, and cut out with the matching dies and adhered with foam tape. The sentiment was heat embossed onto a Black Licorice panel cut with the Slanted Sentiment Strips Die-namics.

Marble Background Stamp - MFT January Release Countdown Day 3

January 7, 2018

Welcome to Day 3 of the MFT January Release Countdown. Today I'm showcasing the new Marble Background Stamp and the Love You Die-namics.

I love the Marble Background stamp so much! It adds gorgeous and elegant texture to your project.
I cut Grout Gray card stock to 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" and stamped it with the Marble Background using Cement Gray ink. I cut it with two dies from the A2 Rectangle STAX Set 2 Die-namics to make a thin frame. I die cut out the words "LOVE YOU" from the interior piece and adhered both the interior and the exterior pieces onto the front of a Black Licorice card base. I die cut the "LOVE YOU" from Black Licorice and Brushed Gold card stock and layered them. I heat embossed the words "EVERY SINGLE DAY" from the From the Heart stamp set onto Steel Grey card stock and cut it out with a strip die from the Hearts in a Row - Vertical Die-namics.

As I didn't want to throw away the cut out pieces, I decided to make one more card using them.

The new products will be available for purchase on January 9 at 9:00 pm EST.

I Vike You - MFT January Release Countdown Day 4

January 6, 2018

Welcome to Day 4 of the MFT January Release Countdown. Today I'm introducing the new stamp set & Die-namics from my Birdie Brown line, Viking.

The Viking stamp set is a 3 x 4 set and it contains a Viking image and three sentiments. It's a small set, but a card you make with this set will have a big impact. :)

I made a Valentine's Day card with combining the Viking with the arrow from the Tag Builder Blueprints 5 Die-namics. I hope he won't repel my love with his shield. LOL!

I had so much fun coloring him! First I colored him with Copics simply, then added shades and texture with colored pencils. I'm still practicing this technique, but I feel it's an easier way to add texture.

The new products will be available for purchase on January 9 at 9:00 pm EST.
