To a Beautiful Friend - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 374

February 28, 2018

It's time for a new sketch challenge over at the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog. This week's sketch is very simple, so you'll see a lot of possibilities in it.

I made a scene all over the card front and featured a beautiful swan with a popped up frame
First I watercolored the background scene on a panel of watercolor paper using Distress Inks (Chipped Saphire, Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers) and added the white dots with a gel pen, then I die cut out a frame from it. I adhered all the pieces onto the card base, using foam tape only for the frame.

I stamped the images with Kraft Hybrid ink and colored them with watercolor pencils. I added a little shimmer to the lotus flowers with a Wink of Stella pen. The faux waterdrops were added with Sea Breeze Jewel Drops.

Congratulations Circle Shaker Card - MFT Hits & Highlights

February 27, 2018

I'm sorry for being MIA for a long time! I'm finally back today with a card I made for the MFT Hits & Highlights DT Challenge. This month we're featuring the word circle frame Die-namics - Happy Birthday, Thank you, Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Congratulations.

I was inspired by PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games to create my card. I had been busy watching the Olympic Games this past a few weeks (LOL!) and I was so impressed by the awesome performance and beautiful international friendship! (This wasn't a reason why I didn't post anything on my blog for a while. I had been working on designing a new stamp set! ;))
I combined a skiing bear from the Ski-sons Greetings stamp set with the Congratulations Circle Frame Die-namics and couldn't help using gold for the words.

To add more fun, I also put a shaker behind the bear using a Circle Shaker Pouch and some diamonds.

Light-Up Birthday Card - MFT & Chibitronics Collaboration

February 15, 2018

Today and tomorrow, MFT and Chibitronics are teaming up to share some inspiration for you!
Make sure you visit the MFT blog and the Chibitronics blog for next two days to see the fun projects that both design teams have made using products from Chibitronics and My Favorite Things. And of course, there will be a giveaway on each blog!

I made a birthday card using the Birthday Chicks stamp set. I made my background scene using the Radiating Rays Stencil and the Cloud Stencil since I wanted to make my focal panel as flat as possible so the Chibi Lights mechanism works well.
I colored and cut out the chicks, then made a tiny hole on top of each chick's party hat with a craft pick. I also made three tiny holes in the points where the party hats should be on the stenciled panel.
I made my electric circuit on another panel and adhered it to the card base which I added a patterned paper panel and a frame. I covered it with the stenciled panel, adhered the chicks and the sentiment panel, and embellished with some gems

I'm really sorry that I completely forgot to take a photo of my circuit. A coin cell battery and a switch are under the sentiment panel. So when you press the panel, the hats light up. As you see in the photo below, I used Tropical LEDs that match with the colors of the hats.

MFT carries some Chibitronics products, and the products I used are listed below. Watch a how-to video HERE if you're new to Chibi Lights. Making a circuit is easier than you think. ;)

Mandala Stained Glass Cards -MFT Release Replay

February 13, 2018

It's time for MFT Release Replay DT Challenge. Today the MFT DT is taking a fresh look at our most recent release with inspiring ideas and innovative takes on the complete collection. We love the opportunity to look at our products with fresh eyes, envisioning entirely new ways to showcase the possibilities they present!

I played with the Magical Mandala Die-namics again and created a faux stained glass card.

As you see, the Magical Mandala nicely fits in the largest frame from the Single Stitch Line Tag-Corner Square Frames Die-namics. I adhered a die-cut mandala onto vellum and colored with Copic markers from the back.

I changed the colors to get a soft and feminine look. Honestly, I prefer the second one...

It's been awhile since I made a video last time. 😅 Watch the video below to see how I created a faux stained glass card. (Click HERE to see the video on YouTube.)

Just Bee-cause - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #371

February 7, 2018

It's time for a new sketch challenge over at the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog!

I knew that the Gift Box Cover-Up Die-namics would work perfectly for this one. But I decided to go with a little liberal way since I wanted to show you another possibility of the newly released Single Stitch Line Tag-Corner Square Frames Die-namics.

I used the smallest die from the Single Stitch Line Tag-Corner Square Frames Die-namics instead of the rectangle elements in the sketch. As the shape of the frames made me think of the Honeycomb Background stamp, I chose the Meant to Bee stamp set to create my focal scene.

Watercolor Birthday Chicks - MFT February New Products Launch

It's time to shop! MFT February new products are available for purchase now!

I'd like to share a watercolor card I made using the new Birthday Chicks stamp set.

It's a very simple card. I stamped the images with Tea Dye Distress Ink on watercolor paper and colored them with watercolor pencils. I also painted the background with my watercolor pencils.
I cut it with a die from the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2 Die-namics and matted it with a Peach Bellini panel. The sentiment was heat embossed on Whip Cream CS with Gold Embossing Powder and cut out with the Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips Die-namics.

I'm still learning how to use watercolor pencils. But I'm happy with what I've done so far. I really like that watercolor pencils blend beautifully and give a soft and dreamy look to the images. I also like that I can add details over the watercolored images as I did on the party hats, the candles, and the cupcake liner.

Furever Friends - MFT February Release Countdown Day 1

February 6, 2018

It's final day of the MFT February Release Countdown. The new products that we've been showcasing this past five days will be available for purchase tonight at 9:00 pm EST!!

My card for today uses the Furever Friends stamp set & Die-namics that were part of the December Card Kit. You can purchase them separately now if you missed the kit.

First I cut a Primitive Cream panel using the A2 Rectangle STAX Set 2 Die-namics and stamped it with the Paw Prints Background. I stamped, colored, and die cut out a pup and a kitty, and made a background for them with patterned paper and Blue Yonder CS which I stamped with the Denim Background to add some texture.

I framed them with two layers of Single Stitch Line Tag Corner Rectangle Frames cut from Kraft CS. Doesn't it look like a photo frame on a wall? I added the sentiment panel and the tiny hearts cut with the Tag Builder Blueprints 5 Die-namics and covered the hearts with Glossy Accents.

Galaxy Mandala - MFT February Release Countdown Day 2

February 5, 2018

It's Day 2 of the MFT February Release Countdown. We're so close to the release!! All the new products will be available for purchase tomorrow at 9:00 pm EST.

My card for today features the beautiful Magical Mandala Die-namics

Since I saw so many beautiful mandala art with galaxy background on Pinterest, I wanted to give it a try.
To create my background panel, I did watercoloring on a piece of watercolor paper using Distress inks (Chipped Saphire, Mermaid Lagoon, Blueprint Sketch, Black Soot) and spattered some white ink, then cut it out with the largest die from the A2 Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics
I die cut out two mandalas from Smooth White CS and was layering them for thickness. But, I happened to think of a new idea - How does it look if the top one is rotated a little? So I rotated the top one (22.5°), then I got a new beautiful circular design! Yay! I'm really happy with how this turned out. :D

The sentiment is from the previously released From the Heart stamp set and it was heat embossed on an Eggplant panel. I embellished the mandala with Clear Iridescent Mix Jewels.

Make Some Noise! - MFT February Release Countdown Day 3

February 4, 2018

Welcome to Day 3 of the MFT February Release Countdown!

The Jungle Vibes stamp set features 5 jungle animals with the music theme. They're so adorable and I love that little monkey so much!!
For my card, I colored the elephant, monkey, and lion with Copics and colored pencils and cut them out with the matching dies. I framed them with bright color frames cut with the Single Stitch Line Rectangle Frames and the Single Stitch Line Square Frames Die-namics and added some foliage cut with the Wild Greenery and the Leafy Greenery Die-namics

I stamped my background panel with the new Music Notes Background stamp using Versa Mark ink, then added the zig-zag stitching lines along both sides using the Basic Stitching Lines Die-namics. The sentiment was stamped on Primitive Cream CS and cut out with a die from the Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips Die-namics
After I assembled everything, I added some colorful dots with Nuvo Crystal Drops. (The colors used are listed below.)

All the new products will be available for purchase on February 6th at 9:00 pm EST.
