To a Beautiful Friend - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 374

February 28, 2018

It's time for a new sketch challenge over at the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog. This week's sketch is very simple, so you'll see a lot of possibilities in it.

I made a scene all over the card front and featured a beautiful swan with a popped up frame
First I watercolored the background scene on a panel of watercolor paper using Distress Inks (Chipped Saphire, Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean, Peacock Feathers) and added the white dots with a gel pen, then I die cut out a frame from it. I adhered all the pieces onto the card base, using foam tape only for the frame.

I stamped the images with Kraft Hybrid ink and colored them with watercolor pencils. I added a little shimmer to the lotus flowers with a Wink of Stella pen. The faux waterdrops were added with Sea Breeze Jewel Drops.

Head on over to the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog for the challenge details and for more inspiration from the DT. Hope you'll play along with us this week. :)

Thank you for stopping by!

  1. Beautiful card! Love the background.

  2. Torico this is gorgeous. I had to get this set and thought it would be perfect for wedding cards. Love your beautiful background.

  3. This is amazing. I would love to see how you created the background.

  4. Really pretty how you created this seamless look.
