Introducing New BB Stamp Sets - MFT April Countdown Day 4

March 31, 2018

Welcome to Day 4 of the MFT April Release Countdown! Today I'm introducing the new stamp sets and Die-namics from Birdie Brown line

Rain or Shine Stamp Set & Die-namics

Puddle Jumper Stamp Set & Die-namics

Sometimes you need to make a card to cheer up someone who is under the weather or is having hard days. These sets surely help you! By getting both sets, you'll have more options for creating scenes and for sentiments.

I have two cards to share with you today. The first card features the Rain or Shine stamp set and Die-namics.

I added loose watercolor wash on watercolor paper using Distress Inks to create a rainy day background. After it dried, I drew falling rain with a white gel pen. I trimmed it and adhered to the card base along with a panel of gingham patterned paper.

The images were colored with Copics and colored pencils and were cut with the matching dies. I popped up only the girl image with foam tape. I'm sure those dancing ducks bring a little smile on recipient's face. :)
The sentiment was heat embossed on a Boysenberry panel cut with the Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips Die-namics.

Actually, I had a plan to make a video showing my coloring process on this set. But I'm sorry I couldn't because my movie camera got broken when I was coloring!! 😭 I'm hoping it will be fixed up soon, but the store staff said it would take a few weeks... NOOOOO!

OK, now move onto the second card. I played with the boy character from the Puddle Jumper stamp set.

I used the new Mini Raindrops Stencil, which will be revealed in a few days on the MFT blog, for my background. I masked off the bottom portion of the panel and stenciled the raindrops in rainbow colors using Distress Inks and sponge daubers. Then I blended some Distress Inks (Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean) and added little water spots with a brush for the bottom portion. I also added more details with a white gel pen. The images were colored with Copics.

Hmm... I hope they're safe because it looks like they're playing in a flood. LOL!!

All the new products will be available for purchase on April 3 at 9:00 pm EDT.

Jump for Joy - MFT April Release Countdown Day 5

March 30, 2018

It's time to begin the countdown to MFT April Release! The time schedule has been changed and the countdown posts will be up on the MFT blog and the DT blogs at 9:00 pm EDT for the next five days. The new products will be available for purchase on April 3 at 9:00 pm EDT.
We have a lot of fabulous products to share with you! Make sure you stop by the MFT blog every day for the full reveal of the new products and for more inspiration from the DT.

I'm kicking off my countdown with a fun interactive card that features the Toad-ally Awesome stamp set & Die-namics and the Bold Blossoms stamp set & Die-namics.

I recommend you to buy the Toad-ally Awesome Die-namics along with the Toad-ally Awesome stamp set because it includes a small slider channel die and a die to cut a lilypad that isn't in the stamp set. These dies expand the possibility of the Toad-ally Awesome stamp set.

First I stamped a panel of Smooth White with the Watercolor Stripes Background using Lemon Chiffon Premium Dye Ink. After I stamped the sentiment, I made a slider mechanism using the channel die. I also used a die from the Interactive Birthday Cake Die-namics to cut my slider tab and stamped the "pull" which is from the Interactive Labels stamp set.
After I adhered the panel to the card base, I attached the toad and added the lilypad, the flowers from the Bold Blossoms stamp set, and several Clear Droplets around him.

As I used an Action Wobble Spring instead of a Slider Element, my toad jumps up and wobbles! See how he moves in the short video below.

Vintage Roses with Watercolor Pencils - MFT WSC 377

March 21, 2018

Today I'm sharing a card I made for MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 377.

As you know, I'm obsessed with watercolor pencils recently. This time I tried to achieve a vintage look of roses using the Scribble Roses stamp set. Honestly, I'm not so happy with the result, but I thought I'd share it with you anyway.

I stamped the roses on watercolor paper using Kraft Hybrid ink and colored them with my watercolor pencils. After it dried completely, I added the die-cut "because" and stamped a sentiment from the Because You stamp set with Hot Fudge Premium Dye Ink.
I distressed the edges of the panel using a paper distresser and adhered the panel to a Kraft card base. To finish off the card, I added a few faux waterdrops on the roses using Glossy Accents.

Bundle of Balloons Card Kit Release!

The new Bundle of Balloons Card Kit is available for purchase now!

Remember that you'll have a chance to win 1 of the 5 special prizes ($25 - $100 gift voucher!) by purchasing the card kit!! Visit the MFT blog for more info about the prizes.

I have a cheerful birthday card to share with you today.
(NOTE: The products written in boldface are included in the kit.)
To create this card I die cut a Smooth White panel using the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2 Die-namics and stenciled it using the Star Celebration Stencil and In the Buff Premium Dye Ink. I die cut out the alphabet balloons from rainbow colors of cardstock (Blu Raspberry, Sour Apple, Lemon Drop, Orange Zest, Ripe Raspberry, Poppy) to spell out "HOORAY". I also die cut out the solid balloons 6 times from Smooth White cardstock and layered them under the alphabet balloons. For the strings, I used a swirl die from the Balloon Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics

The "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" was die cut with the new Free with $60 Die-namics, Block Happy Birthday, which uses the same font with the Alphabet Balloons Die-namics. I die cut it from Smooth White cardstock and colored each letter with Copics matching with the balloons. (The Copic colors I used are listed at the bottom of this blog post.)
I die cut an arch shape panel, attached it to the main panel with foam tape, then adhered the "HAPPY BIRTHDAY".

Bundle of Balloons Card Kit Countdown Day 2

March 20, 2018

Welcome to Day 2 of the MFT Bundle of Balloons Card Kit Countdown! The new card kit will be available for purchase tonight at 9:00 pm EDT. Before the release, I'd like to share another card with you that I made using the kit.

(Note: The products written in boldface are included in the kit.)
I chose pastel colors of cardstock from the kit to create a baby card. I spelled out "BABY" with the balloons and combined them with an adorable elephant from the Soak Up the Fun stamp set. I thought he (or she? I don't know.) looked like wearing a diaper. LOL!
First I cut a Smooth White panel and cut off the left edge with a die from the Stitched Scallop Basic Edges 2 Die-namics. I die cut four alphabet balloons from colored cardstocks and four solid balloons from Smooth White cardstock using the Balloon Alphabet Die-namics. I backed the alphabet balloons with the solid balloons and inlaid the alphabets. I adhered them to the panel, tied jute twine to each, and tucked the end of the twine into a tiny hole that I made on the panel with a craft pick.

I stamped the elephant image on watercolor paper with Milk Chocolate Hybrid Ink and colored with watercolor pencils. I drew a little hill on the panel and adhered the elephant with Thin Foam Squares. The sentiment is from the Essential Sentiments Stamp set and it was stamped with Milk Chocolate Premium Dye Ink.
I added a piece of patterned paper to the card base and attached the panel with foam tape. A couple of Clear Droplets were added to finish off the card.

Bundle of Balloons Card Kit Countdown Day 1

March 19, 2018

It's time for MFT March Card Kit Countdown! The new kit is called "Bundle of Balloons", and it contains the Balloon Alphabet Die-namics, Balloon Numbers Die-namics, and 20 sheets of cardstock. Doesn't it sound fun? Make sure you stop by the MFT blog for the full reveal of the kit and for more inspiration from the DT.

(Note: The products written in boldface are included in the kit.)
For my card today I spelled out "NEW HOME" using the Balloon Alphabet Die-namics.
First I made a 3-1/2" x 5-1/2" card base from Bubblegum cardstock and lightly inked the lower half portion of the card with Bubblegum Premium Dye Ink. I die cut a border of houses from Smooth White cardstock using the Our Town Die-namics, colored the roofs with Copics, and adhered it to the card. (The Copic colors used are listed at the bottom of this blog post.)

I die cut the balloons with a letter to spell out "NEW HOME", and die cut the solid balloons from colored cardstock matching with the colors of the roofs, too. I layered the solid balloons behind the alphabet balloons, slightly off-set, to add colors to the letters and for a colorful shadow effect. I adhered them to the card after drawing the strings with a gel pen. To finish off the card, I added Glossy Accents to the windows of the houses and rounded the bottom corners with a corner chomper.

The Bundle of Balloons Card Kit will be available for purchase tomorrow at 9:00 pm EDT.
And MFT offers super fun prizes for YOU!!! As you see in the graphic above, five secret party balloons that contain a gift voucher will be added to the five lucky card kit boxes. Just purchase a card kit and open your box. If you found a hot pink balloon in the box, you are a winner!! :D:D Check out the MFT blog for more info.

I will be back tomorrow with a card for Day 2 of the Card Kit Countdown.

Colored Pencils on Dark Cardstock - MFT Release Replay

March 13, 2018

It's time for MFT Release Replay DT Challenge. Today the MFT DT is taking a fresh look at our most recent release with inspiring ideas and innovative takes on the complete collection. We love the opportunity to look at our products with fresh eyes, envisioning entirely new ways to showcase the possibilities they present!

I tried coloring with colored pencils on dark cardstock today.

I stamped the solid flowers from the Pressed Flowers stamp set on Eggplant cardstock with Sweet Tooth pigment ink. I also used a leaves image from the Bold Blooms stamp set.
After the ink dried completely, I colored them with colored pencils. (I use Faber Castell Albrecht Durer watercolor pencils. I didn't add any water this time though.)
I die cut the word "friend" three times from Smooth White cardstock and layered them. I also heat embossed a sentiment from the Anything-but-Basic Friendship stamp set under the "friend".

You can see how I colored those flowers in the video below. Click HERE to watch it on YouTube.

Pressed Flowers - MFT Color Challenge #89

March 8, 2018

Today I have a card to share with you that I made for the MFT Color Challenge #89. It's rare that I play with a color challenge because I'm not so good at it. But, I thought that the newly released Pressed Flowers stamp set would work well for the newest color pallete.

First I die cut a Bold Stripes Cover-Up panel and adhered to the card base to create a white-on-white background. Then I stamped a sentiment from the Anything-but-Basic stamp set and added the die-cut "FRIEND".

I stamped and die cut out the flowers and assembled them. I also added a few leaves that were cut with the Royal Leaves Die-namics as I thought a little more Sour Apple was needed.
