Congratulations, Love Birds! - MFT Color Challenge 94

May 24, 2018

Hello! Today I'm sharing a card that I made for the MFT Color Challenge 94

The color palette is so fresh and lovely, isn't it? These colors made me want to play with felt!

I made the Mini Rolled Roses with Lemon Chiffon and Peach Bellini felt and cut the leaves from Summer Splash felt using the Fab Foliage Die-namics. I embellished the Garden Gate with these roses and leaves, and added two birds that are from the A Tweet Hello stamp set.
To create my background panel, I stamped a piece of Smooth White card stock with Itsy Bitsy Polkadots Background using Lemon Chitton Premium Dye Ink and cut it with the Stitched Rectangle Scallop Edge Frames Die-namics. I adhered only the inside piece onto the card base, then added a Lemon Chiffon frame.

Painted Prints Card Kit Release

May 23, 2018

The new MFT Card Kit, Painted Prints is available for purchase now!

(NOTE: The products written in boldface are included in the kit.)
To create my background, I die cut a striped panel from Smooth White card stock using the Striped Sentiment Strip Cover-Up Die-namics and stamped the "Miss You", which is from the Brushstroke Expressions stamp set, with Hot Fudge Premium Dye Ink. After I drew a dashed-line frame with a gray Copic Multi Liner, I added a panel of Peach Bellini and adhered to the card base.

I stamped the flowers and leaves and cut them out with the matching dies. Ink colors used are listed below. I die cut the flower vase from Kraft card stock and stamped it with the Marble Background using Kraft Premium Dye Ink. The flower vase die is the new mid-month Free with $60 Die-namics! :)
After I put everything together, I added a tiny bow to the vase and several Ice Cube Jewels around the flowers to finish off the card.

Painted Prints Card Kit Countdown Day 2

May 22, 2018

Welcome to Day 2 of the MFT Painted Prints Card Kit Countdown. The new kit will be available for purchase tomorrow (May 22) at 9 PM EDT

(Note: The products written in boldface are included in the kit.)
I stamped the flowers and leaves from the Painted Prints stamp set randomly on a piece of Smooth White card stock to create my own patterned paper. The ink colors used are listed at the bottom of this blog post. My daughter said that it would be pretty if this pattern was on a dress for summer. I totally agree! :D
I cut the stamped panel with a scalloped rectangle die from the Blueprints 27, then cut out a  Stitched Rectangle Scallop Edge Frame from it to make a camouflage frame. I also cut the frame three times from Blue Breeze card stock and layered them under the stamped frame.

I stamped a sentiment from the Brushstroke Expressions stamp set with Safety Orange Premium Dye Ink onto a panel cut with the Stitched Mini Scallop Oval STAX Die-namics. Then I inked around the sentiment with Antique Linen Distress Ink. I adhered the sentiment panel with foam tape and added several Clear Droplets to finish off the card.

Have a Flamazing Day - MFT Just Add Color

May 10, 2018

Hello! Today I'm sharing a card that I made for this month's MFT Just Add Color DT challenge. The DT members share projects or stamped images from the newest release focusing on coloring.

I played with the Let's Flamingle stamp set and tried painting a jungle scene using my watercolor pencils.

I stamped the flamingos on watercolor paper with Rustic Hinge Distress Ink. Then I painted a scene around them and colored them with my watercolor pencils. Actually, I'm not so happy with how this turned out, especially about the water. I really need to do more practice!!

I used Cherry Wood Adhesive-Backed Sheet for the frame. I felt that the wooden frame made my poor art look a little bit better. Haha!

Check out the MFT blog for more inspiration from the DT. You'll be amazed by their coloring skill and new ideas!

For My Little Buddy - MFT May New Product Launch

May 9, 2018

It's time to shop! MFT May Release is live now!

Today I'm sharing a card with you that features the little boy holding a kitty from the Little Buddies stamp set.

To create my card, I die cut a panel of Smooth White using the Inside & Out Stitched Rounded Rectangle STAX Die-namics, masked off the upper portion of the panel, and blended Shabby Shutters and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks to create a hill. Then I stenciled the clouds using the Cloud Stencil, Berrylicious Premium Dye Ink, and a sponge dauber.
After I adhered a panel of patterned paper to a Kraft card base, I attached the inked panel with foam tape.

I stamped and colored the images and put them together to create a scene. The sitting cat is from the previously released New Best Friend stamp set and the butterflies are from the Adorable Elephants stamp set.
I stamped the sentiment onto a panel cut with the Stitched Sentiment Strips Die-namics.

Happy Birthday from Sweet Bunny - MFT May Release Countdown Day 1

May 8, 2018

It's final day of the MFT May Release Countdown!! The new products that we've been showcasing this past several days will be available for purchase tomorrow at 9 PM EDT!

My card for today is a birthday card that features the Sweet Somebunny stamp set & Die-namics, the Block Happy Birthday Die-namics, and the Balloon Alphabet Die-namics

The Balloon Alphabet Die-namics was part of the March Card Kit, and the Block Happy Birthday Die-namics was a mid-month Free with Purchase Die-namics. Now you can purchase them if you missed a chance to get them. :) The tiny bows on the balloons were cut with a die from the Bundle of Baby Cloths Die-namics.
I combined the balloons with a sweet bunny image from the Sweet Somebunny stamp set. I stamped it with Antique Linen Distress Ink and colored with my Copic Markers and colored pencils.

I die cut the "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" three times and stacked them up to make it thick, so it stands out enough against the polkadot background. The words "To My Very Sweet Fridns" is from the Sweet Somebunny stamp set, and it was heat embossed on a Latte panel cut with a die from the Hearts in Row - Horizontal Die-namics

Watercolor Father's Day Card - MFT May Countdown Day 2

May 7, 2018

Welcome to Day 2 of the MFT May Release Countdown!
Today I'd like to share a father's day card with you that I made using the Safari Party stamp set, the All About Dad stamp set and the Dad Die-namics.

I stamped an adorable elephant image from the Safari Party stamp set onto watercolor paper with Kraft Hybrid Ink and colored with watercolor pencils. As I added a hat and a bow, I cut him out with scissors.
I cut a panel of watercolor paper with the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 2 Die-namics and painted some foliage referring to a picture I found on Pinterest. I adhered the elephant with foam tape and stamped a sentiment from the All About Dad stamp set.

I did some watercolor washes on a scrap of watercolor paper and die cut out the word "DAD" from it using the Dad Die-namcis. I also die cut the DAD three times from Smooth White card stock and layered them under the watercolored DAD.

All the new products will be available for purchase on May 8 at 9 PM EDT.

Cross-Stitch Tags - MFT May Release Countdown Day 3

May 6, 2018

Welcome to Day 3 of the MFT May Release Countdown. Today I'm sharing a set of five cross-stitch tags with a baby theme that I made using the new Scallop Cross-Stitch Tag Die-namics, along with the previously released Cross-Stitch Tag Die-namics.

I made these baby themed cross-stitch patterns! These will be available in a downloadable PDF HERE.

For these two and the rattle one, I did cross-stitch on a tag cut with the Cross-Stitch Tag Die-namics and layered a solid scallop tag cut with the Scallop Cross-Stitch Tag Die-namics to add decorative edges and to hide the mess on the back. (LOL) The hole reinforcers are also from the Cross-Stitch Tag Die-namics. The sentiments I stamped are from the new Hello, Little One stamp set.

Of course, you can use the Scallop Cross-Stitch Tag as it is, like I did for the baby buggy and the baby's face. I backed them with solid ones.

All the new products will be available for purchase on May 8 at 9 pm EDT.
