Introducing Fall Friends Stamp Set & Die-namics - MFT September Countdown Day 4

August 31, 2018

Welcome to Day 4 of the MFT September Release Countdown! Today I'm introducing the new stamp set & Die-namics from my Birdie Brown line, Fall Friends.

Fall Friends Stamp Set

Fall Friends Die-namics

It has been terribly hot and humid this summer in Japan. So I'm really looking forward to autumn. The new Fall Friends stamp set features two little girls with a fall theme, and there also be a couple of cute squirrels and several accessory images to build a scene. The sentiments are perfect for the season of thanksgiving, or combine the images with the Birdie Brown Greetings Galore stamp set that will also be released this month for more possibilities.

To create my card for today, I blended Ripe Persimmon and Mustard Seed Distress Oxide Inks on a Smooth White panel and spattered it with some brown and white watercolors. I also sponged a little Ripe Persimmon Distress Oxide Ink around the ground, it might hard to see in the photo above though.
The birch trees were die cut from Kraft CS. And I blended the same inks I used for my background on a scrap of Smooth White CS to cut out the leaves. I couldn't help adding some falling leaves, so the scene matches well with the sentiment.

The images were stamped with Milk Chocolate Hybrid ink and colored with Copics and colored pencils. I took a video of my coloring process of the characters in this set, and it's going to be up on the MFT blog and MFT YouTube channel (not on my YT channel) on September 5th. Make sure you subscribe to the MFT YouTube Channel, so you won't miss it. ;)

All the new products will be available for purchase on September 4 at 10:00 am EDT.

Kicking off the MFT September Release Countdown

August 30, 2018

The MFT September Release Countdown has begun! We have so many fabulous new products to share with you for the next five days. Make sure you stop by the MFT blog every day for the full reveal of the new products and for more inspiration from the DT!

I have two cards to share with you today.
My first card features the Mod Birds stamp set and the Sassy Pants Best Friends stamp set.

I randomly stamped the images from the Mod Birds stamp set on a Smooth White panel that I cut with the largest die from the A2 Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics. I cut a smaller rectangle panel out of it using the A2 Rectangle STAX Set 1 and Set 2 Die-namics and set it aside. I adhered the outside piece to a Kraft card base with foam tape, then embedded the cut-out panel.

I die cut the "FRIEND" twice from Kraft CS and layered them. I stamped a sentiment from the Sassy Pants Best Friends stamp set with Milk Chocolate Premium Dye Ink, cut it out with the Essential Fishtail Sentiment Strips Die-namics, and adhered with foam tape.

For my second card, I used this month's bonus freebie stamp set that features three cute cacti. You will receive this 3" x 4" set with your order of $60 or more, in addition to the newest Free with $60 Die-namics, while supplies last!

I stamped the cacti and the pots in bright colors (Inks used are listed at the bottom of this blog post.) using my Mini MISTI, then added some patterns to the pots with a white gel pen, and prickles to the cacti with a dark brown pen. I cut them out with the Stitched Rectangle Scallop Edge Frames Die-namics. I also cut two frames from Coral Crush CS and layered under the white frame.

I adhered a panel of patterned paper to the Smooth White card base and added the frames and the stamped panel. The sentiment was heat embossed on Coral Crush CS and cut with the Slanted Sentiment Strips Die-namics.

All the new products will be available for purchase on September 4 at 10:00 am

MFT Color Challenge #100

August 23, 2018

Hello! Well... Isn't it a miracle that I post here five days in a row even though it isn't MFT Countdown week? LOL!
Today I popped in to share a card I made for MFT Color Challenge #100.

First I thought I would go with an autumn theme because kraft and persimmon made me think of autumn trees. I pulled out some trees/leaves themed stamps and Die-namics, and played with them for a while. But, I didn't get any results I was happy with. So, I totally changed my mind and got this one at last.

I combined the cutie from the Blowing Kisses stamp set with the Hearts in a Row - Horizontal Die-namics. The sentiments are from the From the Heart stamp set, and I used the Itsy Bitsy Polka Dots Background stamp for the background.

The image was colored with Copics and colored pencils. I couldn't help adding a few Crystal Clear Confetti to make a visual triangle on my card. (Have you seen a fabulous instruction about this theory that Barbara made for MFT Summer School 2018?)

You're on Fire - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge #399

August 22, 2018

It's time for a new sketch challenge over at the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog
Here is this weeks sketch.

I used the Starry Circle for the main circle element in the sketch and put a dragon from the Magical Dragons stamp set as well as two stitched clouds.

First I die cut a circle panel from After Midnight card stock using the Stitched Circle STAX Die-namics and cut out the stars with the Starry Circle Die-namics. I cut another circle panel from Silver Sparkle card stock and applied it to the back of the After Midnight panel.
I stamped the dragon and the fire onto watercolor paper with Kraft Hybrid Ink, heat set, and colored with my watercolors. I cut them out with the matching dies and adhered to the circle panel adding two clouds cut with the Stitched Clouds Die-namics.
I adhered a strip of patterned paper to the card base, then attached my focal panel. The sentiment was stamped onto a fishtail banner cut with the Stitched Sentiment Strips Die-namics with Milk Chocolate Premium Dye Ink. Several sequins finished off the card.

MFT Beautiful Bloom Card Kit Release

August 21, 2018

The new MIFT Card Kit, Beautiful Bloom is available for purchase now!

I have one more card to share with you that I made using the kit.

(NOTE: The products written in boldface are included in the kit.)
First I die cut a panel from Peach Bellini CS using the largest die from the A2 Rectangle STAX Set 2 Die-namics. I heat embossed the Beautiful Bloom image three times with white embossing powder and added shadows with a Copic Marker (R20). I also added a partial frame to the top left corner with a white gel pen.

I cut vellum sheet to 1-1/4" x 5" and heat embossed the "Happy Birthday" from the Hello Beautiful stamp set. I wrapped it around the panel and glued. I die cut out the "beautiful" from Smooth White CS, inked it with Peach Bellini Premium Dye Ink lightly, and added a mat cut from Persimmon CS using the Beautiful Die-namics
I adhered the panel to the card base with foam tape, then added a few Clear Droplets to finish off the card.

Just in case you missed my countdown posts and need more inspiration, here are the links to them.

Before I wrap up today's post, I'd like to let you know that so many of the MFT card stock, ink pads, and felt are retiring. I'm very sad that some of my all-time favorites are going...😭 And also, Copic Markers and refills will no longer be available on the online store. The retiring products are in the sale category now. Grab your favorite ones before they go!!

MFT Beautiful Bloom Card Kit Countdown Day 2

August 20, 2018

It's Day 2 of the MFT August Card Kit Countdown. The new Beautiful Bloom Card Kit will be available for purchase tomorrow at 10:00 am EDT.

(NOTE: The products written in boldface are included in the kit.)
Yesterday I used the Beautiful Bloom for my background. Today it takes the stage! I stamped it on Smooth White card stock with Lemon Chiffon Premium Dye Ink and colored with my colored pencils. I referred to THIS photo for my coloring inspiration. It took me so long, but I had so much fun coloring this gorgeous flower!

I stamped the front of a Smooth White card base with the Itsy Bitsy Polka Dots Background using Limelight Premium Dye Ink. After I added two die cut frames, I attached the flower with foam tape
I die cut the "beautiful" from Kraft card stock and the mat from Smooth White card stock using the Beautiful Die-namics. I adhered them to the card, then stamped the "Hello" with Milk Chocolate Premium Dye Ink. I added a few gold sequins to finish off the card.

MFT Beautiful Bloom Card Kit Countdown Day 1

August 19, 2018

It's time to begin the countdown to MFT August Card Kit, Beautiful Bloom! The new kit will be available for purchase on August 21 at 10:00 am EDT. Make sure you visit the MFT blog for the full reveal of the kit and for more inspiration from the DT!

(NOTE: The products written in boldface are included in the kit.)
The Beautiful Blooms Card Kit features a big gorgeous flower stamp called Beautiful Bloom. I'm not sure what flower it is, but I guess it is a kind of dahlia.
To create my card, I die cut a panel of watercolor paper with the largest die from the A2 Rectangle STAX set 1 Die-namics and stamped the flower image twice with Kraft Hybrid Ink. I colored them with watercolors and spattered some brown watercolor paint.

The kit also contains a sentiment stamp set called Hello, Beautiful and the Beautiful Die-namics. I love that the Beautiful Die-namics includes a mat die for the word!! It makes a die cut word pop against a background, works as a guide to arrange a word in a script font beautifully, and it is easy to stack up to add dimension!

I die cut the "beautiful" from Milk Chocolate card stock and the mat twice from Whip Cream card stock. I glued them together and adhered to the panel, then stamped the "Inside & Out" from the Hello, Beautiful stamp set in Milk Chocolate.
I adhered the panel to a side-folded card base and tied hemp cord.

Head on over to the MFT blog to see what the DT members have come up with for today!
I'll be back tomorrow with a card showing the flower colored in a different medium. :)

Thank you for stopping by today!

CAS Birthday Card - MFT Birthday Project Challenge

August 16, 2018

It's time for a Birthday Project Challenge over at the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog. This month we're challenged to create a CAS (clean and simple) birthday card/project.

The number "three" was the key to create this card. I mean...
  • Three horizontal lines (stripes)
  • Three focal points - two balloons + a big sentiment
  • The Rule of Thirds - I placed the sentiment (the most important element on this card) on the right bottom intersection of the rule of thirds grid, and the larger balloon (secondary important element) is on the left vertical line.
  • Primary colors - red (pink), yellow, and blue
  • Three star sequins - They were arranged to make a visual triangle
First I made a Smooth White card base and stamped the stripes from the Happy Birthday to You stamp set with Berrylicious Premium Dye Ink. Then I stamped the sentiment, which is from the Big Birthday Wishes stamp set, in Black Licorice.

I stamped the balloons from the I Heart Celebrating stamp set in Bubblegum and Lemon Drop and drew the strings with a dark brown pen. Once those dried, I added a little shimmer to them with a Wink of Stella pen and covered them with Glossy Accents. I added three silver stars sequins and rounded the bottom corners to finish off the card.

Mandala Window Shaker Cards - MFT & Friends August 2018

August 14, 2018

It's time for the MFT and Friends feature on the MFT blog. Today MFT design team and some fabulous guests are sharing more projects featuring the most recent release.

I made two shaker cards using the Captivating Mandala Die-namics.

To create this card, I cut Grout Gray CS into 4-1/4" square and die cut out the Captivating Mandala from the center of it. I applied a piece of acetate to the opening from the back and adhered the mandala over it with liquid adhesive. I adhered the panel to a 4-2/1" square card base, which I made from Gravel Gray CS, with foam sheet putting Crystal Clear Confetti as shaker elements.
I heat embossed a sentiment from the Essential Sentiments stamp set onto Gravel Gray CS, cut it out with a strip die from the Hearts in a Row - Horizontal Die-namics, and adhered to the center of the window.

For my second card, I used the same design, just changed the colors into warm and autumnal colors. The sentiment is from the More Essential Sentiments Die-namics and I put some Sand and Metallic Gold sequins for shaker elements.
