Mandala Window Shaker Cards - MFT & Friends August 2018

August 14, 2018

It's time for the MFT and Friends feature on the MFT blog. Today MFT design team and some fabulous guests are sharing more projects featuring the most recent release.

I made two shaker cards using the Captivating Mandala Die-namics.

To create this card, I cut Grout Gray CS into 4-1/4" square and die cut out the Captivating Mandala from the center of it. I applied a piece of acetate to the opening from the back and adhered the mandala over it with liquid adhesive. I adhered the panel to a 4-2/1" square card base, which I made from Gravel Gray CS, with foam sheet putting Crystal Clear Confetti as shaker elements.
I heat embossed a sentiment from the Essential Sentiments stamp set onto Gravel Gray CS, cut it out with a strip die from the Hearts in a Row - Horizontal Die-namics, and adhered to the center of the window.

For my second card, I used the same design, just changed the colors into warm and autumnal colors. The sentiment is from the More Essential Sentiments Die-namics and I put some Sand and Metallic Gold sequins for shaker elements.

Watercolor Poppies - MFT Just Add Color

August 9, 2018

It's time for MFT Just Add Color feature for August. The MFT DT members are showing our coloring skills using the latest release.

I have two cards to share with you today. I'm totally in love with the Painted Poppies stamp set and had to try no-line watercoloring with it.

For my first card, I went with 'normal' colors for poppies - vermillion and a little bit yellow. The poppies were stamped onto watercolor paper with Kraft Hybrid Ink using the masking technique. The sentiment is from the new From Me to You stamp set.

For my second card, I turned the same flower images into blue poppies. Honestly, I don't know much about blue poppy. But I believe that those non-dissected leaf images in the set can be used for blue poppies.

I added a couple of Clear Round Drops to the petals. The sentiment is from the From All of Us stamp set and it was heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

MFT August New Product Launch

August 8, 2018

It's time to shop! The MFT August Release is live now!!

I'd like to share another Halloween card with you that I made using the new Frightfully Sweet stamp set & Die-namics.

The woodland friends are visiting a haunted house for trick or treating. Look! A mummy hedgehog is peeking out from the window! Haha!
To create my scene, I cut a panel from Cement Gray CS using the A2 Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics and stenciled the Small Brick Wall with Kraft, Gravel Gray, and Black Licorice Premium Dye Inks. I cut an opening from it using the Classic Window Die-namics and added the window frame cut from Latte CS.

I daubed some Orange Fizz Premium Dye Ink onto a piece of Banana Split CS and stamped a spider web and two spiders from the Fab-BOO-lous Friends stamp set with Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink. I adhered it to the window from the back along with the hedgehog and a piece of acetate.

After adhering the stenciled panel to a Black Licorice card base, I added a grassy panel on which I heat embossed a sentiment and the critters.

From All of Us - MFT August Release Countdown Day 1

August 7, 2018

It's final day of the MFT August Release Countdown! All of the new products that we've been showcasing this past five days will be available for purchase tomorrow at 9:00 pm EDT!

I have two cards to share with you today. Both cards use the From All of Us stamp set along with the Captivating Mandala Background stamp which revealed on Day 4 of the countdown.

For my first card, I stamped the Captivating Mandala Background onto In the Buff CS with Versa Mark ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I blended Salty Ocean and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide Inks over it and cut it with the largest die from the A2 Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics once inks dried. I cut two curved panels from In the Buff and Cornflower CS using the Stitched Basic Edges 2 Die-namics, stamped a sentiment from the From All of Us stamp set to the In the Buff panel, and adhered to the inked panel. I embellished my mandala with Amethyst Jewels.
The From All of Us stamp set contains a variety of sentiments that use "we" or "us". This is so useful when you need to make a card from your family or a group of friends!

For my second card, I blended Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, and Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide Inks on Smooth White CS to create my background panel. This time I paired a sentiment from the All of Us stamp set with the You Trio Die-namics. Pink Blush Jewels were used for embellishment.

Fluttering Friends - MFT August Release Countdown Day 2

August 6, 2018

It's Day 2 of the MFT August Release Countdown. We're so close to the release day! I guess your wish list is getting to be longer and longer. But we still have a lot of fabulous products to share!

My card for today features the Fluttering Friends stamp set.

The dragonflies and butterfly in the Fluttering Friends stamp set have unique patterns on their wings. Those looked so fun to color, but I chose to go with a monochromatic design as I wanted to show you another possibility of the set.
I made my background pattern by stamping and heat embossing the images all over the Kraft card front and partially colored them with a Copic Marker.
I die cut the "miss you" three times from Milk Chocolate cardstock and layered them. It's this month's Free with $60 Die-namics.
I rounded the right corners with a corner chomper to finish off the card.

All the new products will be available for purchase on August 7 at 9:00 pm EDT.

Tu-tu Sweet - MFT August Release Countdown Day 3

August 5, 2018

Welcome to Day 3 of the MFT August Release Countdown! Today I'm showcasing the Tu-tu Sweet stamp set and the Rolled Rose Die-namics.

The new PI girl is literally sweet! I decided to combine her with a couple of felt roses since she holds a little rose, and I went with a kind of 'classic' style for my card design because her tutu made me think of classical ballet. (I mean... Before matching dies for stamps got to be popular, we used to stamp an image on a white and basic shaped panel, didn't add any background scenes, matted a focal panel with colored cardstock, and added patterned paper for a background. I used to use flowers on almost ALL of my cards for embellishments, and a scalloped edge was the cutest thing for me! You understand what I said if you're a longtime card maker. LOL!)

I stamped her on X-Press It Blending Card with Chocolate Brown Hybrid Ink and colored with my Copic Markers. I cut it using the A2 Rectangle STAX Die-namics Set 1 Die-namics and matted it with a panel of Grape Jelly cut with the A2 Rectangle STAX Set 2 Die-namics. The background paper is from Tiny Hearts Pastels Paper Pack. I adhered it to a Grape Jelly card base along with a scalloped border cut with the Stitched Scallop Basic Edges 2 Die-namics, then adhered my focal panel.

The larger rose was cut from Pink Lemonade felt with the new Rolled Rose Die-namics. The smaller one was cut from Whip Cream felt using the larger die from the previously released Mini Rolled Roses Die-namics. I used the Fab Foliage Die-namics to cut the leaves. For the sentiment panel, I used the Oval Word Window Frames Die-namics.

All the new products will be available for purchase on August 7 at 9:00 pm EDT

Frightfully Sweet Stamp Set & Die-namics - MFT August Release Countdown Day 4

August 4, 2018

Welcome to Day 4 of the MFT August Release Countdown. Today I'm introducing you the new stamp set & Die-namics from my Birdie Brown line, Frightfully Sweet!

The Frightfully Sweet stamp set features five woodland animals with Halloween costume. These 'not-frightful' creatures will be visiting your house for Trick or Treating! My most favorite character in the set is..... the mummy hedgehog! :D:D What is your favorite?

I kept the layout of my card simple as I wanted to show all of the characters. I blended Broken China, Peacock Feathers, and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks on watercolor paper and spattered a little white ink and water. Once it dried, I stamped the trees from the Modern Trees stamp set with Black Licorice Premium Dye Ink.

I stamped the characters with Chocolate Brown Hybrid Ink and colored with Copic Markers. After adhering them, I stamped a sentiment onto the panel directly, then made a mess. LOL! So I decided to add a panel of Eggplant cut with the Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips Die-namics. I heat embossed the sentiment on it and adhered with foam tape after I drew three lines with a white gel pen.

All of the new products will be available for purchase on August 7 at 9:00 pm EDT.

We Make a Great Duo - MFT August Release Countdown Day 5

August 3, 2018

The MFT August Release Countdown has begun! We have so many fabulous new products to share with you for the next five days. Make sure you stop by the MFT blog every day for the full reveal of the new products and for more inspiration from the DT!

My card for today features the Friendship Rocks stamp set & Die-namics and the In the Spotlight stencil. Yes! These girls should be in the spotlight! ... I just wish In the Spotlight stencil had been released last month so I could make THIS card easily. LOL!

To create my card, I made a top-fold card from Purple Rain cardstock and randomly stamped a cluster of stars from the Friendship Rocks stamp set all over the card front using Eggplant Premium Dye Ink. Then I stenciled two spotlights using a Mini Ink Blending Tool and Sweet Tooth Pigment Ink.

I stamped two girl images with Milk Chocolate Hybrid Ink, colored them with Copic Markers (only for their skin) and colored pencils, and cut them out with the matching dies. I adhered them to the card with Thin Foam Squares (for the right girl) and Foam Tape (for the left girl). I heat embossed the sentiment on Cranberry Cocktail cardstock and cut it out with a die from the Stitched Sentiment Strips Die-namics. I added random white dots around the girls using a gel pen to finish off the card.

All the new products will be available for purchase on August 7 at 9:00 pm EDT
