I'm in Hog Heaven - MFT Hits & Highlights

January 29, 2019

Hello! Today I'm going to share a shaker card with you that I made for this month's MFT Hits & Highlights DT challenge.

This month we're challenged to create a shaker card featuring hearts. I chose the Heart Trio Shaker Window Die-namics, the Mini Heart Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics, and the Heart Trio Shaker Pouches, and I combined them with the Hog Heaven stamp set.

I die cut a scalloped rectangle panel out of After Midnight CS using the Blueprints 27 Die-namics and made two shakers using the Heart Trio Shaker Window Die-namics, the Heart Trio Shaker Pouches, polka dots pattern paper, and some tiny pearls. After adhering the panel to the card base, I added the white frames cut with the Mini Heart Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics.

I adhered a pig image from the Hog Heaven stamp set over the middle heart window, added the sentiment panel along with a strip of patterned paper, and embellished the panel with a couple of tiny flowers.

MFT Heart Art Card Kit Release!

January 23, 2019

The MFT Heart Art Card Kit and the Joyful Heart Bears stamp set & Die-namics are available for purchase now!!

I'd like to share a shaker card with you that I made using the Heart Art Card Kit and this month's mid-month free with $60 die, Mini Heart Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics.

To create this card, I die cut a Smooth White panel using the A2 Rectangle STAX Set 2 Die-namics and stamped the top half of it with the Scattered Hearts Background using Wild Wisteria Premium Dye Ink. I cut out a heart-shaped opening with the Mini Heart Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics and stamped a greeting from the Heart Art stamp set onto the interior piece. I made a shaker using the Heart Trio Shaker Pouches and some mini heart confetti, adhered the panel to the card base, and added a frame cut from Ripe Raspberry CS to the shaker.
I added two Wild Wisteria panels cut with the Stitched Scallop Basic Edges 2 Die-namics along the top and the bottom edges.

I cut Ripe Raspberry, Blu Raspberry, Lavender Fields, and Wild Wisteria CS into strips and put them together on a piece of thin paper to make a striped pattern. I die cut the "LOVE" out of it using the Double the Love Die-namics and adhered the L, V, and E to the panel.

MFT Heart Art Card Kit Countdown Day 2

January 22, 2019

Welcome to Day 2 of the MFT January Card Kit and Mid-month Release countdown!
Today I'm sharing a card with you that features the Joyful Heart Bears stamp set designed by Stacey Yacula, as well as the Double the Love Die-namics from the Heart Art Card Kit.

First I die cut a panel out of Neenah Solar White CS using the A2 Stitched Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics. I stamped the bear image with Hot Fudge Hybrid Ink and masked the bear and the heart balloon, then stenciled the grass and the clouds. After I colored the images with Copic Markers, I die cut out the vertical "LOVE" with the Double the Love Die-namics and popped it up with foam sheet.
I stamped the sentiment and added three butterflies to finish off the card.

By the way, I tried some oval makeup brushes for stenciling and ink blending for the first time, and I'm loving them so far. I bought a cheap set of 10 brushes on Amazon. They pick up ink so well and blend inks so smoothly. I especially love that they don't make kind of rustling sound when they are rubbed on paper! (You know what sound I'm talking about? Blending foam pads often make it, especially when they are new. I don't really like it.)

The Heart Art Card Kit and the Joyful Heart Bears stamp set & Die-namics will be available for purchase tomorrow at 10:00 am EST. You can also purchase the products included in the kit individually.

Head on over to the MFT blog for the full reveal of the new products and for more inspiration from the DT.

Heart Art Card Kit Countdown Day 1

January 21, 2019

The MFT January Card Kit Countdown has begun! This month's kit is called Heart Art, and of course, it features the LOVE theme. And also, a new stamp set from Stacey Yacula line, Joyful Heart Bears will be released at the same time with the card kit. These new products will be available for purchase on January 22 at 10:00 am EST.

(NOTE: The products written in boldface are included in the kit.)
My card for today uses the Heart Art stamp set and the Double the Love Die-namics from the kit.
I made my background pattern by stamping the heart arts on Smooth White CS using my MISTI. I used Cotton Candy and Ripe Raspberry Premium Dye Inks to add ombre effects on the hearts. I trimmed the stamped card stock and added two cross-stitch lines along the top and the bottom edges using the Basic Stich Lines Die-namics. (I thought the cross-stitch lines looked like 'X's in a row.)

I die cut the "LOVE" out of the panel using the Double the Love Die-namics and adhered the panel and the inside pieces to the Ripe Raspberry card base. I white embossed a sentiment from the Sweet Celebrations stamp set on Gravel Gray CS, cut it out with a strip die from the Hearts in a Row - Vertical Die-namics, and adhered to the panel with thin foam squares. I added some watermelon jewels here and there to finish off the card.

Head on over to the MFT blog to see the full reveal of the Heart Art Card Kit and the Joyful Heart Bears stamp set & Die-namics. You'll find a list of the DT members participating today's countdown there. Visit each of their blogs for more inspiration!

Thank you for stopping by! I'll be back tomorrow with a card featuring the Joyful Heart Bears stamp set. ;)

Sending Rainbows and Hearts - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 420

January 16, 2019

Hello! Today I'm going to share an inside shadow box card with you that I made inspired by this week's MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge (WSC420).

As you see, I used the sketch as my starting point and went for a little liberal way. I made my scene using the Rainbows & Unicorns stamp set and the Stitched Cloud Edges Die-namics. For the background, I stenciled the Sunrise Radiating Rays with Spun Sugar Distress Ink, constellated lots of tiny hearts cut with a die from the Tag Builder Blueprints 6 Die-namics, and added some white dots with a gel pen.

I used Smooth White CS for my card base and kept the front clean to make the impact of the inside scene big.

MFT Color Challenge #109

January 10, 2019

Hello! Today I'm going to share a card that I made for the MFT Color Challenge 109.

I played with the newly released Hearts Entwined Die-namics and combined it with a cute bear image from the Friends Furever stamp set.

To create my background panel, I stamped a Smooth White panel with the Itsy Bitsy Polka Dots Background using Kraft Premium Ink and cut off the top and bottom edges with the Stitched Scallop Basic Edges 2 Die-namics
I die cut the Hearts Entwined three times, one from Smooth White and twice from Kraft CS, and stacked them up, the white one on top. I also die cut the Hearts Entwined from Limelight, Blu Raspberry, and Sno Cone CS and embedded the inside pieces.

I added the bear image and the sentiment panel, then added some sequins to finish off the card.

January 9, 2019

It's time to shop! The MFT January Release is live now!!

Today all the MFT DT members and some fabulous guest designers are sharing projects using the new release products for more inspiration for you.

I combined the Cute Chemists stamp set with the Scattered Hearts Background stamp. I stamped and heat embossed the Scattered Hearts Background on the front of a Smooth White card base, then blended Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick Distress Inks to create an ombre pink background. I stamped and colored the images on X-Press It Blending Card, cut them out with the matching dies, and adhered to the card base with foam tape. I stamped the sentiment to complete the card.

I was so happy to hear many people liked the wild hair of the boy chemist. If you need more inspiration for coloring his hair, search on Pinterest with the words 'Boy, Hair, Anime, Game'. ;)

It's the final day of the MFT January Release Countdown. The new products that we've been showcasing this past five days will be available for purchase tomorrow at 10:00 am EST!

My card today features the Friendly Fox Die-namics. It's totally adorable!! I simply die cut each part from felt and assembled into the fox. (The felt colors used are listed below.) I used a Copic Marker (R20) for the rosy cheeks.
The patterned paper is from the Tiny Hearts Brights Paper Pack and it was cut with the Stitched Mini Scallop Rectangle STAX Die-namics.

The sentiment is from the new Sweet Nothings stamp set. I stamped and embossed on Milk Chocolate CS and cut out with the Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips Die-namics. I embellished the sentiment panel a couple of hearts cut with the Tag Builder Blueprints 6 Die-namics.

Cutieasaurus Slider Card - MFT January Release Countdown Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of the MFT January Release Countdown.
Today I'm sharing a slider card with you that uses the Cutieasaurus Stamp Set & Die-namics, the Interactive Pull Tabs Die-namics, and the Spin & Slide Channels Die-namics.

I made my background scene using the Radiating Rays Stencil, the Moutain High Die-namics, and the Snow Drifts Die-namics. Then I made a simple slider mechanism on the hill panel using the Spin & Slide Channels Die-namics, the Interactive Pull Tabs Die-namics, and a Slider Element. I stamped and colored the images from the Cutieasaurus stamp set on Neenah Solar White CS, cut them out with the matching dies, and adhered to complete the scene. When the tab is pulled, the male dinosaur moves forward and kisses the female dinosaur.
