Peek-a-Boo Shaker Card - MFT Birthday Project Challenge

June 21, 2019

Hello everyone! It's time for a new Birthday Project Challenge over at the MFT blog. This month's theme is to make a card that features a peek-a-boo element.

I created a peek-a-boo shaker card using the Friends with Fins stamp set and a Circle Shaker Pouch. The Circle Shaker Pouches make it pretty easy creating a peek-a-boo shaker card!

I stamped the front of a Smooth White card with the Watercolor Stripes Background using Blue Breeze Premium Dye Ink, then made a circle opening using the Circle Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics. I cut an Ocean View Porthole from Whip Cream CS and added it to the opening as a frame. I applied a Circle Shaker Pouch from the back, put in some sequins, and covered with a piece of acetate cut with a circle die. I also added a circle frame to the back of the shaker so the adhesives won't be seen. (See the photo below.)

I die cut the Happy Birthday Script twice, from Whip Cream and Persimmon CS, and added them to the front making a shadow effect. The stars were cut with a die from the Circle Shaker Window & Frame Die-namics.

For the inside, I made an underwater scene by ink blending (Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch Distress Inks) and stenciling using the Card-Sized Confetti Stencil Set. The ground elements were cut with the Under the Sea Die-namics. I heat embossed a sentiment from the Bundle of Balloons stamp set and added the shark from the Friends with Fins stamp set.

Head on over to the MFT blog for the challenge details and for more inspiration from the DT. You'll have a chance to win a $50 gift voucher by joining in the challenge!
