Monochromatic Flowers - We're Half Way to the MFT September Release Day!

August 31, 2019

Welcome to Day 3 of the MFT September Release Countdown!

Today I'm sharing a card that uses the beautiful Floral Focus Stamp Set and the Bitty Thanks & Gratitude Stamp Set.

I went with a monochromatic design. I stamped the image onto Natural CS with Extreme Black Hybrid Ink and colored it with Copic Markers. (E41, E43, E44) Then I added random dots with a Copic Marker (E44) and a white gel pen for faux ink spattering. I trimmed it down and adhered to a Milk Chocolate card base adding a thin strip of Gold Sparkle CS along the right edge of the panel.

I gold embossed a sentiment from the Bitty Thanks & Gratitude Stamp Set on Steel Grey CS, cut it out with the Skinny Strips Die-namics, and added to the panel with foam tape.

All the new products will be available for purchase on September 3 at 10 am EDT.

Sweater Weather - MFT September Release Countdown Day 5

August 29, 2019

The MFT September Release Countdown has begun! We will be showcasing the new fabulous stamps and Die-namics for the next five days. So make sure you stop by the MFT blog every day to see the full reveal of the new products and for more inspiration from the DT.

It's still been hot and humid here in Japan. But it's already time to think about winter in our stamping world. Right? Well, I'm sweating as I'm trying to shift my gears. LOL.
So, I have two cards to share with you today that feature the new stamp sets from my Birdie Brown line, the Sweater Weather on Safari and the Sweater Weather in the Wood

The Sweater Weather on Safari Stamp Set includes four safari animals wearing sweaters. I stamped them on No-Line Coloring CS with Milk Chocolate Hybrid Ink and colored with Copic Markers. (BTW, I used No-line Coloring CS for the first time, and I LOVE it!! The surface is so smooth, Copics blend nicely without bleeding, and it is thick enough for layering Copics. I haven't tried yet, but I think it works so well with colored pencils, too!)

To create my background panel, I stamped the Knitted Sweater Background onto Natural CS using Natural Premium Dye Ink. I cut it with the A2 Rectangle STAX Set 1 Die-namics and inked around the edges with Natural and Kraft Premium Dye Inks for a vignette effect. Once it dried, I spattered some white ink to add more texture.

I created a winter scene on a Smooth White panel using the Drifts & Hills Stencil and the Trio of Trees Stamp Set. I stamped, colored, and cut out all the critters from the set and added to the scene.

I put a tiny cap on the moose and the beaver. This cap fits almost all the animals in the Sweater Weather on Safari and the Sweater Weather in the Woods Stamp Sets. ;)

The new products will be available for purchase on September 3 at 10 am EDT.

MFT Say It in a Starburst Card Kit Release

August 20, 2019

The new MFT card kit, Say It in a Starburst is now available for purchase!

For today's card, I combined the kit with the Flutter of Butterflies - Lace Die-namics. I went with a collage style and used the Starburst Die-namics to give a butterfly a circular backdrop.

I partially stenciled the Mini Staggered Circles on the background panel using Blue Breeze Premium Dye Ink to add subtle texture. The fishtail strip panel was cut with the Starburst Sentiment Strips Die-namics, which is this month's mid-month Free with $60 Die-namics, and I stamped it with the Diagonal Stripes Background. The leaves were cut out of Sour Apple CS and Translucent Vellum with the Grand Greenery and Fab Foliage Die-namics. I die cut two butterflies from Smooth White and Peach Bellini CS. I inked around the edges of the white butterfly with Peach Bellini Premium Dye Ink and added a little Glitter Drops.

I put all the die-cut elements together, stamped the sentiment, and added several sequins to finish off the card.

MFT Say It in a Starburst Card Kit Countdown Day 1

August 18, 2019

It's time to begin the countdown to MFT August Card Kit Release!

The new kit is called Say It In a Starburst, and the stamp set and Die-namics included are so COOL! Visit the MFT blog for the full reveal of the kit and for more inspiration from the DT.

I made a pair of quick cards for today. It took me less than 10 minutes to finish each card.

(NOTE: The products written in boldface are included in the kit.)

I was inspired by an atomic starburst pattern I found on Pinterest. I stamped a starburst from the Say It in a Starburst Stamp Set with Cement Gray Premium Dye Ink and added some random dots using the Color Drops Stamp Set. For the blue one, I used Blue Bleeze and Blue Yonder Premium Dye Inks to stamp the dots, and I adhered the panel to a Blue Yonder card base. For the peach one, I used Peach Bellini and Coral Crush Inks, and the card base is Coral Crush.

The sentiments in the Say It in a Starburst Stamp Set are designed in a simple font but have a big impact! They fit in the space provided by the starburst image perfectly. I used my Mini MISTI for perfect positioning.

The new kit will be available for purchase on August 20 at 10 am EDT.
Make sure you stop by the MFT blog for more info about the kit and leave a comment on today's blog post for your chance to win a prize!

You Make My Heart Leap - MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge 450

August 15, 2019

Hi everyone! It's time for a new MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! (WSC 450)

I used the Cross-Stitch Tag and the Scallop Cross-Stitch Tag Die-namics for the tag shape element in the sketch. I made a cloudy sky background on the tag using the Mini Cloud Edges Stencil and Distress Inks (Scattered Straw and Tattered Rose), then added a trampoline and a rhino from the Hop, Flip, and a Jump Stamp Set.
The sentiment was heat embossed on Coral Crush CS and cut out with the Skinny Strips Die-namics. It was added to the tag along with a twine bow and several crystal gems.
I adhered the tag to a card base which I stamped with the Scattered Hearts Background.

Actually, I added a wobble spring behind the rhino for a little fun. It's an easy way to add motion to a card. :)

Something Brighten Your Day - MFT Vault Release Day 2

August 14, 2019

Hello everyone!
As I said yesterday, the MFT DT are sharing projects using the August Vault Release products for your inspiration.

My card today features the You Color My World Stamp Set & Die-namics, and I combined them with the Once Upon a Rainbow Die-namics.

I stamped the girl on Neenah Solar White CS with Milk Chocolate Hybrid Ink and colored with Copic Markers. I'm pleased with her red hair and the colorful striped pants. Doesn't she look artistic?

The rainbow was die cut from Smooth White CS and colored with Copic Markers. I covered it with some Glossy Accents after adhering to a panel which I partially stenciled using the Mini Staggered Circles Stencil, Lemon Chiffon and Lemon Drop Premium Dye Inks.

Opening the Vault!!

August 13, 2019

Hello everyone! I have some super exciting news to share with you today!

Starting this month, MFT is going to be releasing some of the retired products with some updates to their original design. This release happens on the Tuesday following the Monthly Release. So the August Vault Release is available for purchase NOW!!

Today and tomorrow, the DT members are sharing projects using this month's Vault Release products for your inspiration. Stop by the MFT blog for a list of the DT members participating today and for more information about the Vault Release.

The Sweet Birthday Wishes Stamp Set & Die-namics from Birdie Brown line have come back!! This stamp set was originally released in 2014 and retired a few years ago. I'm so glad that it still is loved by so many people, and I've heard that some people have been looking for it but hardly get it. So I'm very happy that MFT decided to re-release it!

There is no change in the images while the sentiments have got totally updated, and the new dies are open. You can see the newest version of the sets on the MFT blog.

To create my background, I stenciled the Card-Sized Confetti on the front of a Smooth White card base using Cotton Candy Premium Dye Ink, then inked the bottom portion in Grout Gray to make a floor. For the tablecloth, I cut a piece of patterned paper using an edge die from the Take the Stage Die-namics and added some shadows with Copic markers. I added a thin strip of Desert Storm CS on top and put the cake stand. All the images were stamped on Solar White CS with Milk Chocolate Hybrid Ink, colored with Copic Markers, and cut out with the matching dies.
The sentiment was stamped with Milk Chocolate Premium Dye Ink and cut out with the Stitched Fishtail Sentiment Strips Die-namics.

August 6, 2019

Woohoo!! It's time to shop! The MFT August Release is live now!

Today all the DT members and several guest designers are sharing projects using some of the new products for more inspiration for you.

I made a tall skinny card (3-1/2" x 7") using the Squirrel! Stamp Set & Die-namics
To create my background, I blended Scattered Straw, Fossilized Amber, Carved Pumpkin Distress Inks on watercolor paper and spattered some watercolor over it. I cut it into 3-1/4" x 6-3/4", then added the double lines along three edges with a white gel pen.

I stamped the images on Neenah Solar White CS with Milk Chocolate Hybrid Ink, colored with Copic Markers and colored pencils, and cut out with the matching dies. I adhered them to the background panel after I stamped a sentiment from the Well, Hello Stamp Set with Milk Chocolate Premium Dye Ink. I adhered the panel to a Primitive White card base and added several Round Drops to finish off the card.
